As much of a mess as I think AU football is or may be, its nothing like the total dumpster fire at A&M. I almost feel sorry for the Faggies.

Sumlin supposedly has a lot of dirt on him.
Posted on 12/19/15 at 8:58 am to AU86
They've got the money to fire him if they want to. The problem is that the oil business that was booming and paid for the upgrades to their stadium, is now hurting big time. They're not sure the big time boosters will want to pony up right now to pay his buyout within the required 60 days.

I was referring to some of the things that have been alleged on Sumlin himself.

The most likely "cause" to fire a coach is breaking rules. Hard to see TAMU taking on NCAA sanctions to fire a coach. That would be worse than $20mil
If it is personal misconduct, that is a major court battle to prove and Sumlin and his agent are going to be on their toes

I don't believe that they will fire him either. I am just glad he isn't here. During the last search I heard that Auburn did seriously gage his interest in coming and he wasn't interested.

That is why they're "negotiating" with him according to reports.
Sumlin: "I'm not resigning, give me my money."
Aggie prez: "Here's all the dirt we have on you. You ready to take this public and to court?"
Sumlin: "Let's make a deal."
That's what the Aggies are hoping for.

Who is reporting this and do they really know or is it conjecture?

It's speculation at best right now.

The "source" seems to be a Longhorn reporter, so I guess it may not be exactly reliable.

It's Chip Brown who was the guy behind Saban to Texas

if its Chip Brown, then 85% chance its bullshite. The guy shoots first and aims later. (maybe).

There is video and more of sumlin being drunk in public and more
Posted on 12/20/15 at 12:04 pm to plaric
Ya but if that video has been out for awhile and not clear "firable" they don't have cause.
"We knew he got drunk one time 2 years ago but took us 2 years to fire him" isn't good cause

If we don't hire a DC soon, I'm gonna stab somebody.

Gus called his only contact in Hugh Freeze. Now we are stuck.

Love how people run with that
Posted on 12/20/15 at 2:29 pm to CrazyCadillac
Seriously. Why do people pretend to know who Malzahn's contacts are? That's one of the dumbest things I've read on here and that's fricking saying something.
