What Allen did in one season at USF is very impressive. Their improvement this season over last in scoring defense and overall defense was very good. Ole Miss regressed on defense this year after he went to USF. Was that all on him, who knows but the numbers this year at USF are a vast improvement over the previous year.

Tom Allen. DC at USF has apparently emerged as a candidate.

Is he the only candidate that's been listed?

I have heard one or two mention Tyson Summers. I have no idea if he has been looked at. Some people are saying over the last three days there has been no news/talk down there, that it has been extremely quite on the DC front. I think that everything right now is speculation.

With the dead period starting today I doubt Gus is in a hurry to name a new DC.

I want Allen. I love his high energy and he don't drop f bombs and get us 15 yard penalties. He looks to be able to relate to his players. I don't hint this would be a home run hire

I think it would be a great move to hire an unknown, but good DC. We need 3-4 years, honestly. A big name is looking for a HC gig ASAP.

We need to hire from the NFL, not college ranks.

People go after big names because hiring unknown guys that are good is no cakewalk
