Seeing guys saying Schumann to Florida. Ill be interested in seeing how he does. I really think he's one of the better coaches for Auburn

If Cohen even interviews Jimbo, we should fire Cohen.

Jimbos decline was worse than Gus, he won a natty 12 years ago and was a perennial 8 or 9 win coach every year after that.

If you're gonna hire someone don't hire someone with a shitty record over the last decade, atleast give us the opportunity to have someone win alot of games

Also why the frick would we hire James Franklin? He wasn't good enough for Penn state why is he good enough for us?

If we want a coach who's done something in the past and can do something in the future, we're gonna have to break the bank.

If we want to win championships we either have to speculate and hope we hit big with an up and comer or break the bank any pay someone in their prime.

The only thing hiring someone past their prime is going to do is put us in the same fricking spot again.

Seeing the words Jimbo, Gus, and Silverfield on the hot board pisses me hella off.

Dillingham and Drinkwitz are tier 2 trigger words.

And I see Brohm literally nowhere on the CBS hot board.

I like the idea of DJD being the floor/back stop for this round of searching.

I would love for him, and AU, to pull off the hat trick, to end the season, however, given the way the team has played, thus far, I have little actual belief that he can win 2/3, much less 3/3. That doesn't mean I don't think he's capable; I'm simply acknowledging the difficulty of the task.

Tean Durkin's momentum is contingent on beating Vandy, Mercer, et...

Drinkwitz has won 10 games in the Sec twice in a row at Mizzou. They were dog shite before him.

He'll probably get 9 this season with a good shot at 10 if they beat A&M this season.

I'm not sure why people don't want him.

dont see anyone saying that. Just DJ is a better fallback option than Sumrall, etc.

Durkin has already failed as a head coach, he's not a better fallback than coaches that have already had success in any shape or form. His team got much worse from year one to year two (from 6-7 to 4-8). His defense also sucked and got worse, going from 74th of 128 teams in scoring defense in 2016 to 120th of 130 teams in scoring defense in 2017. And then of course he had the scandal during the off-season of year 3 and got fired.

So no, there is zero to suggest he's a good fallback option, or that he would be able to maintain the defense as head coach. Hell, Mike Locksley, who is a terrible head coach, even managed to hit 8 wins in his second full season with Maryland, so it's not like it's some Maryland thing.

It seems a huge portion of the fan base doesn't even want a coaching search

Coaching searches are fool's gold.

UA - Saban, UGA - Smart - OSU - Day, UF - Myer, UF - Spurrier, Texas - Sark, Lanning UO

You see a guy with a record and experience that meets the standards and qualifications of an SEC, then you make it happen

There are only a few coaches that have the type of experience for any big SEC school. Any one of them could work. AU can get one of these people. AU will do the rest.

Maybe it's just me but he seems very immature. He has done well though.

Dont really like his big wins either

I agree. He was a young HC and is doing remarkably well at Mizzou.

Who cares about BIG wins, Auburn is desperate for any wins at this point.

Idk what he's thinking but that happens all the time.

McVay's dc was twice his age
Go look at McDaniels and dillingham's coordinators too.

Drinkwitz is probably the coach with the most proven record that we could ACTUALLY lure away cause it is Mizzou.

We are not going to compete for championships if we pay someone 6.5m/year like we did with Freeze unless we luck out on Summerall or an up and comer, then well just have to pay them when they find success anyway.

If we want to be in the top 10 regularly, we have to pay top 10 money.

Drink has recent winning SEC experience, he's young and we could lure him away.

Maybe Mario Cristobal. At Oregon & Miami he's a perennial 10 win head coach. Hasnt done it in the SEC though.

Its just going to come down to if we want to fork out the $$$$$.

How about we concentrate on that he was a shite HC?
kind of a small sample size

took over a below average squad that had gotten their HC fired midseason, managed to get them bowl eligible his first year

started out year 2 with an upset of Texas in Austin, but lost his starting QB for the season in the first half

backup came on and did great until he was lost for the season in game 3

rest of the year went pretty much as expected and they finished 4-8

then the McNair death happened and he got R-U-N-N-O-F-T

Something about him being the 4th straight coach from the Arky State pipeline is absurd

That and other similarities to the Gus and Freeze path..

I just want something different but not Boise different even though on paper he would be fantastic hire

Drink and Cristobal? Really?

Sure if you wanna go 8-4, 9-3 and lose every game to a good Big 6 school. Both of them still to this day don't have a big boy win.

I'm tired of mfs trying to put a ceiling on this program. Way too many Sad Susans around here who love to drop trou everytime daddy bama and daddy georgia are in town . Have some self respect good lord.

Edited to say I think Drink could be the guy I'm most wrong about.
