What am I missing?

The tackling job is still mostly on the other 10 guys. As long as the kicks themselves are caught inside the 5 or better I'm not going to judge Carlson on other team's starting field position.
With Parkey, it was almost a conclusion that they were starting at the 25. So tackling really isn't the point of missing parkey, it's the difference in distance that should be interesting to see

AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn's first day of two-a-days has arrived, and with it, the Tigers have scheduled their first scrimmage of August for the morning session in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Tigers coach Gus Malzahn is scheduled to meet with the media after practice to talk about the team's progress.
Follow along here for updates from Malzahn's presser.
** Auburn's scrimmage today was mainly focused on the younger guys, some of the older players were held out.
** For the most part, it was mostly a run-based scrimmage.
** Nick Marshall did not scrimmage, although he worked in the first portion of practice. Jeremy Johnson did get some work.
** On Roc Thomas and Kamryn Pettway, Malzahn says he was pleased, but the younger running backs sort of rush things, get to the hole a little quicker than they need to.
** Auburn won't get specific with game-planning for another week or so.
** Chad Slade was held out of the scrimmage, he's just a little banged up.
** Devaroe Lawrence and Trovon Reed both were held out of the scrimmage, Malzahn says they were in the same situation.
** Malzahn says in the scrimmage, "there were some pretty good licks."
** Until he looks at the film, Malzahn says, it's hard to get a really good evaluation.
** Malzahn says Auburn's trying to make decisions as quickly as possible about the new guys.
** "We'll probably learn more today than we have the first 2-3 days."
** Malzahn says he let Sean White and Jonathan Wallace go live in practice.
** On running back, Malzahn says "There's a lot more to it than just running."
** On Jeff Whitaker, Malzahn says "He's a guy that all the players and coaches trust and respect, and that's key."
** Malzahn says Brandon Fulse is a little bit more used to catching the ball, that will be a little different than Prosch.
** Malzahn says Auburn will be a little bit more flexible at H-back.
** On the running back race, Malzahn says "we have confidence in both guys. ... It could be a deal where we turn 'em both loose early, and see who establishes themselves."
** The second practice of the day is going to be "special situations."

They removed the name of Bo, Sully, Beaz and added every undefeated team Auburn has ever had.
I actually like it, can not be disputed, it is not mythical or made up.

Mackenro Alexander got an INT in todays scrimmage. Not sure who threw it.

Is Peyton Barber playing or is he still out? I feel like I haven't heard anything about him this fall.

IIRC, he is back 100%

Yup PB was out there getting carries. I think he'll be in the same role CAP was last year. Short yardage bruiser.

Someone asked Lashlee if Pettway would move to Hback and Lashlee said "right now he's stictly a RB".
