I still think skipping Freeze is going to come back and bite us in the butt. There aren't alot of good names out there we are likely going to get but next is Napier or Bill Clark at worst. If we get Steele we wasted 20 Million to lose more games a year and worse recruiting.

Napier, but Fickell is up there, just think he’s a Big 10 guy at heart.

The bad thing is the longer this goes on the more of a joke it makes us look and make us less desirable to some coaches we could get right now.

So has Cristobal actually signed the extension? What I read from ESPN just said that his extension was approved.

Wait, you’re going to kill Lanier’s narrative of everyone passing up the Auburn job!

Sounds like a great starter deal at AU. Bottom of the conference money.

The guy would throw together an all-star staff that would recruit their asses off.

Yeah. Nothing against AU people, but I would like a staff with a diverse background. Just bring him in with no restrictions on staff

I agree, I want our next coach to hire the best guys available that he wants. No outside pressure.

Crazy thing is that if Napier were hired, depending on their relationship, he could keep Steele because of their history working together. That would probably mean a few holdovers from the defensive staff or all of them.

I guess it would be contingent on Steele not being pissed about losing out on the HC job.

If 20% of the behind the scenes stuff concerning Steele is true he can’t work here anymore. No head coach could trust him.

That’s from Mary Beth Smarts mouth

I absolutely believe this. Auburn has the most incompetent BOT members of all time.

It took a social media riot just to stop Steele.

We haven’t stopped shite yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to let it die down then still hire him.

100% they will interview some folks then come back and try and hire Steele again. Get ready to hear about how he understands the family culture better than anyone and some garbage about his great plan/presentation a la Chizik or Orgeron’s binder.

Rane, et al are not used to being told no and they won’t take it lying down here

May be off topic and I may just be a salty Auburn fan but does this shite not bore y’all at this point?

The playoff is literally the same 3 teams with some poor sack filling in the 4th spot every year barring 2020 with LSU.
