I have not heard ANYONE suggest that Steele has been anyone's "top choice" until this all broke. Now we're supposed to believe that he's been "the guy" for 2+ years now, and yet no one picked up on this? I'll believe that when I see it.

Steele as HC and Briles as OC until Steele retires with his Alabama retirement, then Briles as HC.

Him and Freeze won't even be considered (It was also in the Q and A thread I just didn't think it was important). I think Freeze should be at the top of the list, but Briles should be banned from coaching period.

Yes. The "Gus is gone" stuff has been talked about for a while before the news officially broke and throughout that (AND before it) I've heard multiple people talking about how we've been in contact with Cristobal through back-channels for ~2 years now. I've heard how so-and-so wants Freeze but not enough time has passed. The obvious talk about Stoops, etc has gone on.
I have not heard one person suggest that all of the BOT wants Kevin Steele - let alone that this has been in the works for 2 years? I mean anything is possible at Auburn, but I find it strange how Philip Marshall knows absolutely nothing - but now all of a sudden he knows for sure that Steele has been the guy for since 2018? This all seems entirely too random, nonsensical, and out of nowhere.

Chiming it to say if we did hire Steele as HC you guys might need to nominate some new board admins because if Auburn doesn’t care about winning then I’m not sure how much I plan on caring about watching

I don't think who is retweeting is the point, it is what is getting retweeted.
It is the same shite Trump does. it isn't retweeting the person because they are a credible source, it is just retweeting the message because it is what you already know or have been told.

For the record, said rapper replied to someone in the comments about Freeze getting an interview.. He replied with emojis, but the gist is he has zero clue about whats going on. Same as everyone else.
