Absolutely.

I just see more upside to Napier than MC. I think MC has proven he's an exceptional recruiter, but an average coach. Maybe that's an elementary analysis, but that's what I think the data shows in my simple mind.

Oh Lord.... please no. My message board mind can’t take rejection from the ULL coach at this point.

If we end up w/ Clark then I will believe we wanted Steele in the beginning. No way we end up with Clark without some absolute bullshite happening

I have watched Clark for a few years being UAB is my grad school and close by. I haven't seen anything that tells me he is better than Gus. Worse when you factor in how undisciplined his teams are.

I like Clark a lot. He has great integrity and I really respect what he’s done with the whole UAB situation even after getting the shaft initially.

But he would not be a good fit for Auburn, nor would Auburn be a good fit for him. I hope this doesn’t happen.

Has Bill Clark ever coached outside of Alabama? Jesus man. Gimme Venables, Elliott, Sark, James Franklin, Luke Fickell, ANYONE.

I've always heard Terry is a douche, but this aligns with the cautious tone from MM.

Not great. Napier was a guy who had pretty broad consensus among fans. Clark would be MUCH more polarizing and would have even less splash than the admittedly low-splash Napier.

That’s what I said before Gus got fired. Pay him $50 million and be done with this shite.

Deep down, on a subconscious level, I’ve felt it would Bill Clark the whole time. It’s a safe hire from a PR standpoint but shows no ambition or energy for the program at all.
