Yep. Can’t worry about this recruiting class. Coming from a guy here who has obsessed over recruiting for a decade +

Two coaches have been contacted of the four mentioned in Jake Crain’s podcast.
He keeps talking about Mario Cristobal, FWIW.

In a year that doesn’t count towards eligibility - this is a best case scenario for hiring a new coach. The recruiting class is as least important as if ever will be
That's comforting. But, if they've reached an agreement, I think sooner is better to make it public.

for the short term, I agree. This is football though. Every signing class is important.

And all those 4 and 5 stars are getting abused by 2 and 3 stars at Cal, Oregon St, etc.

Really looking like it might be Steele lol.. I don't want to get too far ahead of things, but its what I'm expecting as of now.
Even Duke just tweeted out "Auburn does the weirdest stuff sometimes".

It’s Auburn. We never do the right thing. We have members on our board that want us to be competitive but never great. If anyone is going into this with high expectations, they have not been following Auburn enough.
I’d love to be surprised, but doubtful.

Twitter guy. Claims to know stuff, but I never actually read anything informative from him.

Justin Crain’s podcast mentioned Mario Cristobal, Billy Napier, Lane Kiffin and Hugh Freeze. He said two have been contacted. He doesn’t think Billy Napier would be a great fit, but continues to rave on Mario Cristobal.

TheJones can vouch for him. He has connections.
ETA: And with that, I have reached 85,000 and have decided to retire from the board.

I think he is the best overall choice (MC). Does he have questions? Yes, but we won't find a perfect coach.

googled it and got some dude who used to play at South Car..

Dukes has been legit so far. I’m not sure what his tweet means, though

Well, it's not Freeze per Willie. And I don't think it's Steele. You wouldn't mention Steele as the Interim Head Coach if you were going to announce he was the New Head Coach 24 hours later, which you would do to shore-up the recruiting class.
It's someone else, but from an optics perspective, it probably makes sense for the new Head Coach to call all the current players and the recruits, so that they hear from him before it is announced publicly. That just makes sense to me.
Obviously, it'll leak from one of those players soon, but that's what I think.

Holy frick.
Auburn football DOES NOT HAVE ANY INSIDERS THAT PASS INFORMATION OUT. It does not happen. Ever. Anyone that posts anything is fricking guessing and really has no idea. How do I know this? Because I’ve been on this board for over a decade and none of the predictions have ever been right. Ever. Not once.
