Tubbs said he would only leave Oxford in a pine box. Lane would also be leaving Oxford

have eaten so much this year, everything is snug on me right now

My typical pattern is to be in decent shape from January through mid summer when the beers really start to taste good.

The beers started tasting good sitting on the front porch in March this year with nothing else to do.

I am torn over Lane. I think that he would do great at Auburn and he would frick with Saban and Bama constantly.

I don't know what would be owed for hiring him, he has only been there a year.

And if he does leave Ole Miss for us. That would mean that he left two SEC programs after a single season for another job.

If we hired Lane, would we be looking over our shoulder every time a big job like Texas or Bama or LSU comes available?

No buyout.

If he leaves, he leaves.

At some point the buyouts are strangling us.

I want a coach who wants to be here.

IDK if he would have long term success. However, if he left OM after one year we would have him for a long time or fire him.

Yes. If Lane came and we held on to most of the defensive staff, we'd probably kill it for a year, maybe two, and that'd be it. It would probably be fun while it lasted, but there's no way he'll be anywhere for the long haul. He is an opportunist who will climb to the top of his career (again), eventually finding a position which is beyond his abilities, and get busted back down.

That said, if he wants to troll Saban - which seems to be a hobby of sorts - there's no better perch than Auburn for him to do it.
