Y’all forget some of the games with Gus? UGA last year 13-7. Go look at the stats. We forget 2015 offense? Obvious exaggeration but Gus has had some really bad games but some of the best also.

So let's say we don't pay him big time money and call his bluff, what does gus do? I mean who are we bidding against seriously?

Tennessee or Arkansas? Tamu maybe if Jimbo doesn't work out, but who else?

Let's say we offer $5 mil, is Arkansas really going to offer $6 and Gus leave?

Arkansas spent 15 million to fire Long and The football coaching staff... UT offered Greg freaking Schainno 4.5 million.

Desperate programs like Ark and UT are willing to spend money like it.

Probably. They are in desperate need for a big name coach. Say what you want about Gus' bad games......name another SEC HC, who has had Gus' success, not named saban.

With quotes like this, I’m no sure you do... 2012 alone had 3 worse games than any Gus has been apart of.

So you’re saying Gus never had any bad games? Like almost historically bad? One game there was like 37 yards gained in a half GFY Bro it’s obivious what the point is here. Gus can be phenomenal but can also have some huge letdowns, and that’s fine.

auburn has now gone to atlanta 6 times in the 26 years of the seccg... gus was on staff for half of those appearances 8 years on staff 3 seccg appearances during one of, if not the, greatest dynastys in cfb history

That's a hell of a stat right there

Not a single person has said that

I can think of 10 games over the last 15 years off the top of my head worse than 2016 UGA

Unless your definition of historic equals the last 5 years

Get used to shocking salaries.

Market is setting the price, and no university wants to be the first to blink.

The problem is, when Gus is good....he's very, very good. But when he's bad, its pretty ugly.

I don't think that's going to be an issue for the next few years. Heck, he's going to have a stud coming back at QB multiple years. AU can't let him leave at this point.

What's the truth to the rumor Gus was "forced" to stop calling plays? I mean it's worked out quite well, but if he was "forced" he can't be too happy about it.

Gus is a major part of game planning. It is his offense. No one made him stop that.

2016 we had no quarterbacks. JJ was useless. Sean was a gamer but hurt a lot. in the UGA game, the poor guy had a broken arm.

I have to give Gus a pass on 2014. With a decent defense, we beat Bama and win the bowl game, at the very least. 10 win season right there. He made the necessary changes afterward and hired a slam-dunk defensive staff, then another. If you look at it in those terms, 3 of his 5 seasons were, or should have been, 10+ win seasons in terms of his offense, which is what we hired him for. The remaining two years were failures largely due to unforseen QB issues. There is not a coaching candidate out there that is better for us right now. I think these coaches are overpaid, but if it takes a raise to keep him, so be it.

We don't need to dick around. We finally have some stability. We need to get this thing done pronto.
