I agree with you, but I also think it just speaks to the mess that was left behind by the last coaching staff. There was no attempt to build connections, most of the guys on the staff had no experience recruiting in the south, and we burned bridges. Recruiting had to be the priority, but there has to be a balance, or at least some delegation and trust in your assistants to do things that free you up. Judging by some of the games we played this season, it looks like we decided that we were going to wing this season and come back in 2024 with more talent. The only problem is that you talk all the time about setting the standard, but the standard has to be set in the present.

Agreed, it looks visibly clear that Freeze doesn’t trust Monty or Roberts at times. Which would make Freeze’s judgment extremely questionable if both were brought back.

Y’all act like we should be a playoff contender in year 1. Between Gus’ refusal to recruit the o-line for 10 years and 2 years of couch potato recruiting it’s a massive rebuild, patience people.

Not a playoff contender, just not get absolutely annihilated by teams with equal or less talent multiple times a year while looking completely unmotivated... including the head coach.
You can only blame the usual scapegoats of previous staff, "culture" and talent so far. Freeze has plenty of culpability in a purely bad season.

Nope. No passes. He owns every turd from every shite performance this season especially on offense. He hired the coaches that produced those shite results (mostly Montgomery), so it's on him. He owns it because he DESERVES to own it. He's the Head Honcho making the big bucks, so that's where the buck stops

It’s just frustrating. If you’re a sunshine pumper you get away with all kinds of shite until someone calls you on it, then both get punished.
