Thorne is the QB. That is not even a question right now imo. His biggest issue is he's still thinking too much and not comfortable in the offense yet. I watched a few plays and there we're some guys open, but he just wasn't sure of the throw and then the window was closed. For the most part when he let it go he was fine (Minus 1 pass in the 1st Q I think?).
If you watch the big completion to Fairweather on the last TD drive, the inside receiver on that side was schemed open perfectly. One gut cut outside to open the window, WR is coming clear right across the middle of the field.. He didn't trust it though. Hesitated then then had to throw to Fairweather. If he just trust that throw its a huge gain because there was open space in front of the WR.
I was never as sold on HUnter as some. He's dangerous in space, but never has run behind his pads well. He struggles a bit between the tackles and in short yardage because of it. I do think some of it was just rust and maybe pressing a bit, but he's also not the best RB on the conference or better than Tank like some thought.
Going forward I want to see a few more drags and double cross routes. Those should be easy completions (Fair scored on one) for Throne to make and for the offense to find a rhythm.

Week 2 over reaction is always fun.

Agreed, he needs to learn another position or start looking to pharmaceutical or insurance sales. He is no Div 1 QB. Has D1 speed and that’s it and throws hard, but that’s all he has. Can he catch?

I'm sorry to say this especially for my baw Jville but I kinda lost almost all confidence in Robby last night/this morning
I want to believe that he can improve but I don't really know if he could do that
Our QB group is probably our weakest spot, and we need consistent play - which we probably won't get with a 2 QB rotation

The problem with playing Ashford and Thorne is everyone knows what's coming. Ashford will always be viewed as a run threat and not a passer for the simple fact it's game planned that way.

Thorne didn’t have the best game but the offensive woes aren’t all on him. Stick with Thorne and clean up the penalties and fumbles.
I’ve been worried about the defense but they looked good and were put in bad situations.

Exactly. This time last week, we were all sure the offense was very good and the defense was horrible. Now the script has flipped. My own personal thoughts are that this team is new and the coaching staff is new. However, the pieces are there for a pretty good team. If things click, I wouldn't be shocked with a 9 win season.
The question is when will things click and when will everyone get on the same page.

You think anyone is scared of Throne throwing after what they saw last night?
Absolutely not

This is some excellent sunshine pumping. This team will be lucky to win 6 games.

What would you say I am overreacting to? Im pretty sure my position is the same. Nothing I saw week 1 or week 2 is a big surprise to me
My takes have been that we will be very mediocre this year and things would have work out perfect for us to win 8 games. I have felt we were a 6-7 win team with this QB situation , all the new pieces and the schedule

shite play calling >>> shitty play by Throne
I felt like I was watching an abortion child of Bobo and Keassau.

You have to believe the playcalling was a result of low confidence in the forward pass ability.

Hugh is a good offensive coach. He did not forget how to call plays. Just trying to win the best way he can. That last drive was nice with all those forward passes. Id like to know why we changed. Did Cal change the defense or did they just finally say, "We have to try something".

Was he singling you out with that comment?
You? Not that I can see, but some certainly are like every other Auburn football season.
I mean yesterday’s game was an ugly win but what are people really expecting from this team this year other than 15-0 Ship!

I have my theories:
1) Montgomery said "frick it, let's give it one last shot"
2) Cal gave up because Ott was out of the game and their kicker was total arse
3) Freeze was so pissed off he decided he was gonna go shotgun and call them himself
Whatever happened, we frickin' won cause of it

Like I said last night, playing not lose and conservative will get you a big fat L. Can’t play scared.

Freeze isn’t calling the plays though, Montgomery is.

Love the quote! Add another pocket holder to the list
The week 2 over reaction wasnt pertaining to you in particular. Just an overall statement of fact.
Cal game reminded me of Auburn vs Clemson in 2016. 14-6 final. Extremely frustrating game where we shot ourselves in the foot every chance we got.
What I despise is everyone assuming our opponents are better than us with damn near zero knowledge of those other teams actual personnel. As you should know, the game of football is about matchups and I think our boys match up well with the majority of our schedule.
Tough, sloppy win on the road where we coughed up the ball 4 times, lost the time of possession battle, lost the field position battle? Take the W and move on.
Did we learn anything from the game? Hell yes. We learned that our defense isnt going to lay down and we learned this team can find ways to win the game even when everything is going against them.
Proud of this team.

I do have to say though on the issue of our coordinators:
Ron impressed me. I severely doubted him but our red zone defense was pretty good. Major props to him out there
