Good win. Mizzou gonna be tough at home but their game doesn’t translate well to playing on the road.

So Auburn will play Tennessee on January 25, the same night of the planetary alignment.

Is this a sign? I think so.

A planetary alignment on January 25, 2025? If you’re on social media at all, by now you might have seen the breathless announcements of a planetary alignment on January 25, 2025. A flurry of videos and memes is claiming that all eight planets will be in a line on one side of the sun and visible in our nighttime sky. Is it true? Nope. Why January 25? We have no idea. But there will be six planets in our evening sky throughout January. And yes, they’re in a line … like always.

We weren’t as crisp as we have been but it’s nice to see us put away a SEC team with 2 losses

Several things to work on but the 16 turnovers were especially bad

Sloppy game. We had way too many turnovers and we got killed on the offensive glass.

Positives: It’s a win. Yea, can’t really think of much.

It’s ok to be honest, that was bad game. Mizzou is not a good team, they’ll be lucky to win 8 SEC games. Auburn looked like a high school team the last 9 minutes of the game. Hope Pearl tears them a new one and clean up the sloppy play or Texas will beat us down. Just really disappointed right now. Watched Tennessee cream Arkansas and looking like a legit national contender while we looked like we would maybe be a top 20 team. Auburn sports are just frustrating to watch so many times.

Yep, that is another issue I think we have right now that is become a pattern with this team, allowing offensive rebounds and second chance points. I’m starting to believe this team has hit a wall right now. Looked a little sloppy at the end of the Purdue game, struggled with Monmouth a lot and then today struggling against a mediocre Mizzou team.

For fricks sake.

I respect your knowledge of basketball but there are no perfect teams or perfect games.

Win and move on in the conference. Nothing more nothing less.

You win by double digits in conference and still have enough to bring to the players attention in the film room and practice court.

We don’t rebound “great” because we contest the ball on every shot with a block.

I don’t think we have hit a wall at all. Pettiford, Howard, and miles Kelly still can get better in aspects of the game. If Kelly gets to where he is going to the rim and taking contact instead of trying to glide by the defender he will get to 70ish percent on the drive and also collect 3-4 fouls a game. You have to over play the 3 so much with him.

Brother calm down and enjoy the team

Auburn played a good game and got up 20+ and then got sloppy. It happens. You coming on here after every game crying because it wasn’t a perfect game isn’t going to change that.

So there’s a difference in being happy just to win, like teams who are not really supposed to win and have no expectations, and then teams like Auburn where this was always an expected win and should have been a 25-30 point blowout, but only winning by 16. Also, getting dominated on the boards against one of the worst offensive rebounds rebounding teams in the conference and turning the ball over 16 times. Championship caliber teams don’t play like that against mediocre teams at home. I would be more forgiving if this was an away game, but this shouldn’t have happened.
I know there are no perfect games, but you also can’t play like this at home, it’s becoming a trend with this team, get up big and decide not to play for the play 9 minutes of the game. Can’t continue to get away with that now that we are in conference play.

We play like that against Texas and it’s a bloodbath for us.

Commentator for the Bama / OU game just said Auburn was the most likely SEC team to get to San Antonio.

I’m confused with that. In any of my posts, have I ever said that we should play perfect? That was rhetorical, I know I haven’t. Do I have high expectations for this team and believe that we can win championships? Yes.

So in saying that, when I see us playing like this at home against mediocre teams like Mizzou, where it should have been a 30 point win easily, but instead have 16 turnovers and get dominated on the boards against one of the worst rebounding teams in the conference, there’s cause for concern. When you see Tennessee dominate a ranked Arkansas team at home and then you watch our game, Auburn doesn’t belong with Tennessee right, to be honest. It’s ok to be honest about us. We better clean it up quickly though, because Texas will wipe the floor with us if we play like that Tuesday.

Kelly is hurt, you can tell. It’s a wrist injury, so that’s going to bother him for the rest of the year more than likely. Pettiford is consistent at least and we need him to continue to play like he has been.
As for hitting a wall, I think kind of have. Looks like this team is not really engaged and just going through the motions in the second half. Again, I have expectations of this team and I know we have potential to be special, but playing like this in our first conference game that was at home against an overmatched opponent was just disappointing to look at to say the least.

We played very sloppy after a large lead and still missed covering the spread by 3 points. I’m not going to freak out over that after having the best OOC start in program history where we played teams just as good as we will see in conference.

TN played a great game against a ranked opponent. They also struggled against MTSU recently. It’s almost as if it’s easier for good teams to stay locked in on a ranked opponent.

You keep saying this like everyone else has their heads in the sand We got up against a much lesser team and got sloppy and they closed the gap to just under the spread. You’re not edgy or some Nostradamus by saying if we don’t play good then we won’t win.

Are you saying this because you think Texas is good or because we are on the road?

Yeah we got out to 26 and just let off the gas. The guys were mainly trying to make highlight plays. Quite a few tricky passes made to try to get fast breaks and alley oop slams that were turnovers instead.

We played well to get out to that lead then just got bored it seems like.

Did this a lot during the year. Most of the time it didn’t hurt us because the other teams sucked. Just need to fight the urge to make a bunch of half court passes and just keep running the offense.
