It paid off for one big win and another good season. Harbaugh’s been decent since he’s been there. He’s just struggled to compete with Ohio St. Real test is if he can win the conference and then be competitive in the playoff.

Jim Harbaugh also has a significantly stronger resume/pedigree to fall back upon than most coaches.

Pays off? And what if he loses the B1G championship? He would have won absolutely nothing in his time at Michigan. Where would the payoff be?

First off dude won 10+ games in his first two season. He's had 10+ wins 4 of his 7 seasons and one 9win season. He's been winning so this wasn't a charity case.
Yea he was 0-5 vs Ohio until this year. But are you willing to let a HC go that long losing to bama?

How's his recruiting been?

Before this win against OSU, he was 0-5 against them and 1-4 against Michigan State.
That is a lot of patience. I will say its worth it when he does something at some point more than win one big game

I get the sentiment, but this ain't it
Harbaugh's record against their two biggest rivals makes Gus look good.

Have you seen Harbaughs record versus Ohio State?
I’m patient but not that patient.

unfortunately it's just going to be subjective
If Harsin looks out of his depth next year or in 2023, we have to make a move. You can't let the program struggle for a half a decade and then spend a few years trying to pick up the pieces.
But if you're seeing incremental growth and foundational strength, but getting mediocre results, then I think patience is probably the move. It's the opposite of most programs right now, but I think if there is solid evidence of the framework going up, it's healthier to ride it out. And if he can't get over the hump, go find another coach at that point who has a similar vision and hopefully won't have to tear down/rebuild.
