This kinda sucks. I wonder what Gus is going to do now.
Awkward situation. Nick didn't get arrested, but he did do something very stupid and illegal (and it was made public)

Gotta say I don't much care as long as it isn't a suspension worthy situation.

I've calmed down enough to say this.

I hope they suspend him for the first 3 games.

@BarrettSallee: Auburn's policy has been that a player is suspended for half the season on second offense, none for first.

Welp, if this is true we'll know it was his 2nd offense if he doesn't play till mid October

I wonder if the standard drug protocol supersedes the we-gave-you-a-2nd-chance-and-you-fricked-up protocol?

I know that's the whole thing. How do you not get arrested for possession in pot in some states. If he didn't get arrested id imagine the fine won't be that bad. Would this be considered a crime? Usually you get arrested for shite like this

It's not a big deal, it's a big deal if he misses games though.

Gotta agree with RB on this. I don't think it's a big deal, but we also don't know if he's failed any drug test previously. Also possible it gets dropped.

Now I guess it comes down to if getting in trouble at another school counts as a 1st offense.

The above describes the perfect laboratory case as to why athletes continue to frick up and get suspended.

Keep on keepin' on.

Do they not teach a class about how dumb "small" decisions can seriously jeopardize your future?

No different than underage drinking. I wonder if beatbammer and all his rotc pals put away the alcohol until they were 21 too. Times have changed. 3 games is ridiculous.

Exactly.

Now NFL scouts and evaluators know EXACTLY the importance NM places on staying on the straight and narrow AFTER he's already been given his 2nd chance.

I used to get upset over these incidents. Now, I just shake my head. He is not a freshman and I really expected him to be a team leader. I fully expect his punishment to be severe, and deservedly so.

the big fricking deal is that he's the starting QB and weed is illegal. Regardless of your personal thoughts on the issue, he shouldn't be smoking and damn sure shouldn't have any on him while driving. Him getting cited, for weed, while at AU in the first place via transgressions at another school...is a big deal. He's a fricking idiot.

No, and I was never cited for any alcohol related offense either because I understood what was expected of me... an aspect of maturity of which I'm sure you have very little familiarity.
