And this is a good idea in my opinion.
Downtown is no longer for citizens of Auburn. It is strictly for college students and it will continue to become less and less adult/family friendly.
Maybe now i'll be able to eat Hamilton's again.

Wife and I float the Cahaba regularly as we live very close. We fish out of a 16’ canoe. Love the Cahaba.

I don't have an issue w Hamilton's opening up another location outside of downtown

Unless they plan on changing the menu, not sure why you are excited. It's nothing special and not a good price to quality

I agree with you about the Hamilton's deal too...I was very impressed the first time I ate there, but that was right after college, before I had actually had good food. The few times after were not all that wonderful....I suppose I just wanted to bitch about downtown...

Yep like canoeing myself.
Was just curious if that was what he had in mind. Cahaba Lilly's are usually what draws people and they're really nice. For a short time helped out teaching environmental/educational canoe trips with the Cahaba River society.

Never canoed below 280 bridge so I've never seen the lilies. We canoe from Grantsmill to Overton Rd most times.

Most my Cahaba experience is on a private section of the Little Cahaba with controlled access by B'ham water works. You would love it.
They allowed river society to bring kids, church groups, last chance programs, home schooled, etc... as it was deemed one of the most effective conservation programs (by external auditors) that they conducted. Comes straight out of Lake Purdy so it's incredibly clear, clean, and cool and runs right in the middle of summer (as this water is what's being released to augment pumps on the main Cahaba a couple miles downstream. Water is like Idaho-Montana quality sparkly clean and it's there when everything else is dry. But public can't readily boat it like other places.

Agreed, but at least it was a concept/style that wasn't found elsewhere in Auburn

Remarkably average food.
My point is that at least Tucos filled a space you couldn't get elsewhere in Auburn. I can get overpriced average food like Hamilton's plenty of places

I got a buddy that loves fishing that stretch. Think he paddles up it from 280. It’s in my canoe trip book that the weird hippy dude from APT put out. I’ve meant to try it, but haven’t. Maybe I will this Fall. Heard fishing there was good.
