Fishing Smith Lake next weekend. What works there? Should be just like Lanier.

It is but it isnt. Our lake fishes more like a traditional Herring lake. Smith still fishes like a threadfin lake

I would think there are some spots starting to spawn and some that are finishing up

Everybody bored yet?

Quite the opposite. I'm working longer hours now and shite is still piling up on my desk.

No, just having some fun. I am fighting the good fight. Essential work at the moment, but staying away from folks as much as possible.

I am taking my son to ride MC's at my friend's ranch the next two days. We won't be running into a soul and maybe fish the river some.

Not bored but I dislike this routine a lot. Doesn’t help that it’s about 25 degrees outside

Been sitting around with a calculator all day today. Tackle business is going to be a difficult thing to calculate over the next little while. Some stores are going to close. Other stores are going to sell like crazy. My internet business is pretty solid right now.

Big problem. My biggest supplier (the one that makes all my lead products) is closed and will probably be closed till mid summer. Meaning, even though I have some inventory right now, we are going to run out of stuff. Having to figure out how to divvy up the inventory and how I am going to do that is not easy.

Plus, once my supplier gets back on line, they will be swamped big time and its going to take a while to get stuff.

Not going to be easy to figure out but it is what it is.

Been playing a lot of guitar at night. Not working more than 8 hours and listening to a lot of live concerts on Facebook by people that are isolated. That part has been fun

I know it was prior to the order that goes into place tonight. But is there any word if after 6 today, the lake is still open for recreation, so long as social distancing guidelines are followed?

From the state DNR Twitter...(their caps, not mine)

The Governor's Executive Order is a shelter-in-place order for all citizens. BUT, THE ORDER DOES ALLOW HUNTING, FISHING, BOATING, AND HIKING! ALL STATE-OWNED BOAT RAMPS WILL REMAIN OPEN. No more than 10 in your group and you must stay six feet apart. GET OUTSIDE AND ENJOY!

Still open. You may fish all you want and spend your stimulus check on as much fishing tackle as you want.
