I hope that holds true here.

I do too. While I don't think it is proper to talk about a player's financial background as a reason they should stay, making money immediately is not pressing for him.

Sure it would help. But a NC run next year would be even more valuable. Stay put G-rob, stay put.

I would have a hard time telling him to stay put if he's going in the first 3 rounds. We can make a run without him. We're pretty solid at tackle. Coleman, Young, Miller are all more than capable of playing.

This is awesome and sad at same time. We need some AU guys going in first round so recruits are hearing our name called on draft day. On the other hand I really like the idea of returning our whole OL for 2014 when we should have a real good shot at a title. The good news is I think between Coleman, Miller, and Young we would be fine at tackle the tough loss would be Reece

I'd sell him the first round angle after another year, and while they are all solid, they aren't proven to be dominant at the position. Sure the possibility to make a run would still be there, the odds would just decrease substantially IMO, especially if Dismukes declares.

sad that it takes team success for Kiper to notice players

I like GRob for continuity sake but I agree, Coleman Avery and Miller all have ceilings around GRob and are very solid potential replacements.

If we lose Reece, I think we will end up dropping at least a few games. OC is an extremely hard position to replace especially when you already are replacing an OG

Well frick, I thought our OLine would be dominant returning our best 4 of our OL

Now we are probably losing Dismukes and GRob? Well frick

Never too early to panic.

Given how poorly they were conditioned last year there was not much to look at.

he's listed at 6-5/305 on AU's website... seems pretty light for a 1st round NFL tackle

How is that light? The #1 and #2 OVERALL picks in last year's draft:

Eric Fisher: 6'7 306
Luke Joeckel: 6'6 306

My point was if I was Malzahn, I wouldn't be selling him anything about staying. I would tell him the smart decision is probably to declare.

b/c he's shorter than all the tackles taken and weighs less than all the guards (though someone said he's in the 320s now).

what do you think he'll measure at the combine?... between 6-4 and 6-5/ 320ish?

eta: maybe not... several OTs were taken in the first three rounds that were 6-5 or shorter, including Melik Watson from FSU and DJ Fluker.

Doubt his measurements would make him a first rounder

Alex Kozan would move to center if Dismukes left & if GRob left Coleman would step in. Our Oline would be LT- Coleman LG- Diamond C' Kozan RG- Slade RT- Young

Having an inexperienced OC, Chad Slade and a guy who couldn't beat out Chad Slade as our interior oline is not comforting to me

Malzahn isn't inexperienced.

What's wrong with Slade? I understand the criticism before this year but not now. Just because he was bad last year doesn't mean he hasn't changed. Everybody on the OLine has been good this year.
