Ticket markets are like option markets in some ways.

Time decay is real for most tickets.

IF you are willing to wait until the week of the game, you will get in well under face value.

Auburn-Baylor is not Notre Dame-Ohio State for a spot in the NC game.

Anyone paying more than face value now needs to just be patient. As the expiration gets closer, price will crater.

I’m not sure why any Auburn fan would go to Atlanta. Don’t you ever get tired of being bent over by your school? That is the point I have reached. This should have been a home night game.

I get where you’re both coming from. Especially about living in Atlanta. I live in Auburn, went to Auburn, sent my kids to Auburn, and will retire in Auburn. I’m also a former season ticket holder. Key word is former. Those players do not support the university and the university does not support the fans. Eventually, you gotta look at it like you’re a sucker for paying to get reamed. The rah rah sis boom bah of college days are dead. It’s a corporation that sells a very expensive, yet terribly unreliable, product that survives off a dying nostalgia. There’s actually more loyalty and less drama in pro sports with all their prima donnas. Moving this game sealed it for me. I’m a fan of AU, buts it’s entirely non financial at this point. I’ll watch the games and listen to the cheers of the crowd from a couple miles away in the comfort of my covered patio.

i used to attend a bunch of games over the years, scaled way back when we started having kids

now its maybe one game every 2-3 seasons at best, usually Homecoming/Alumni Band (wife played trumpet 1979-84)

last few trips up we’ve stayed in Salem at the guest house of one of her old vet profs, out in the country with chickens and cows, very relaxing (and free, lol)

thinking about doing it this year, think its vs Vandy so it might actually be an interesting game for a change

but to be honest, if we had to pay full price for tickets and accommodations we’d probably skip it

i’m a little more invested this year because i like Golesh and think he’ll do well, but it will never be like it was in the 80s/90s for me
