Is their schedule harder than Auburn’s? Certainly their pedigree isn’t the same. Facilities are poorer. But in the example of Freeze, was his talent better than Auburns?

Even with the cheating, Malzahn's classes at Auburn were consistently rated above Ole Miss'. And Malzahn wasn't a virtuoso recruiter. shite, today BRYAN HARSIN is basically out-recruiting Lane Kiffin. And Harsin can barely be bothered to recruit.

Auburn fans in general have the worst and saddest perception of their own school. This job is CONSIDERABLY stronger in terms of it's ability to pull football talent than Ole Miss is.

I have noticed some people are against Kiffin but for Freeze. At the same school, Kiffin had a 10-3 season last year and has their team 6-0 now. And he hasn’t sniffed an elite recruiting class (although he does well in the portal).

Kiffin is a very good coach. You can't really underplay his work in the portal however; he has pulled a lot of talent - so even if his HS recruiting looks lame, the team isn't devoid of talent.

One other thing: Kiffin is winning while LSU, Auburn, and now Texas A&M have all been underwhelming to bad. We are obviously dogshit and LSU just fired their coach last season and were 11-12 over the course of Kiffin's first two full seasons. When Freeze was giving everyone hell at Ole Miss, Auburn and LSU were generally still strong themselves or at least not total embarrassments. You could venture to say that Alabama was stronger back then as well.

quote:

I’m just not general blown away by the resume and I’m worried why nobody else is interested in him. He was available when Harsin was hired and is still out there and I don’t know that any other power 5 program has courted him

The resume is really impressive if you actually analyze it. He has been at three schools wherein he inherited complete dogshit (none of which are even remotely impressive from a "football strength" standpoint by the way), and he turned them all around immediately. He basically started the football resurgence at Arky State that rolled onwards till Blake Anderson. I think that every coach preceding Freeze at that school going all the way back to ~1990 had a major losing record.

He has never coached at a program like Auburn which has the resources from top to bottom to compete with anyone.

He hasn't gotten another job because obviously his transgressions were pretty taboo and serious. But really, he's been dicked around by the SEC who have prevented him from returning (this is where his main suitors would be) and don't forget that he now makes over $4 million a year at Liberty.

It’s super weird that Justin Lee wants so badly for Harsin to get paid to not coach at Auburn. What a weirdo.

BUT HES A HOLY CHRISTIAN!!

Don’t underestimate this in the final decision. The PTB love Brother Chette. They love the dude and he has been close to our program for a long time. A huge strike against Harsin is that he hasn’t really cared about Brother Chette and with the probable personal stuff that Poker alluded to, it makes it worse.
If Freeze is convincing the PTB he really is a good Christian boy, well, we’ll see.

Personally, screw all this and go get Prime!

He would cause a stir that is for sure...and we could schedule ASU again and see a fight on the field...

Hate to get off topic, but Robinson better hope Prime goes to Auburn or another big program because after that crap he said, Prime will hang 70+ on him next year.

I've wondered this as well.

It doesn't seem like any of his head coaching stops have been in places that would be conducive to that lifestyle. If anything, Auburn would be the closest due to the proximity to Atlanta (a couple of well known clubs and a large population base to draw from of people in that lifestyle.)

You’d be shocked at the Mormon swingers and the LDS church is the largest denomination in Idaho.

Awesome for them if they like it, however, an accusation was made without proof or confirmation. So if we don't check people who make a statement like that that doesn't help us find out what really happens.

Can you post the link where Auburn accused Harsin of having an affair? I’ll wait.
