Good article form the other day. Looks like he is doing well in Denver. Complete sham he went undrafted, but he landed at a great place for his skill set.

I wish him the best, but articles like that are written all the time and the player never makes the squad. I'll feel better about Jeff's chances when he's taking snaps on Sunday regularly.

I was surprised he was not drafted, I think he has a shot, but agree that these articles mean very little.

Local radio/media in Denver is expecting him to make the roster following Shane Ray’s injury

Honest player: I hope my teammates don't suffer any injuries, except those ahead of me on the depth chart, and we have an awesome year.

He was a potential first round draft pick if he stays at Auburn one more year.

No he wasn't. He was at best a third rounder due to his size.

He would have helped his stock having consecutive years of production, but I agree that no team is going to a take a 6'2 DE in the first round.

Most telling part of the article

quote:

GM John Elway has a knack for finding those guys post-draft. Guys like Chris Harris, Jr., C.J. Anderson and Shaquil Barrett were all college free agents the Broncos signed following the draft. Two of those guys have gone on to earn Pro Bowl nods, and all three contributed to Denver’s third World Championship.

I know some of Holland’s tangibles aren’t preferable, but it still blows my mind that he wasn’t drafted at all.

As mentioned...he would have never gone above the 3rd round, but two years of tape playing at an All-SEC level would have moved him from UDFA to a mid round pick. IMO the stats on that decision make it obvious why he should have returned. It might work out for him and I hope it does, but there is no way it was the best decision based on the numbers of the past.

Article referenced some concerns with his passion for football, he's had some weird off field issues dating back all the way to recruiting too

Got to imagine it was red flags and not performance projection that held him from at least a RD 6-7 type spot

I get the impression people just don't like his personality when interviewing him. I remember a lot of reports during his recruiting process questioning his passion for the game. Same questions seemed to have popped up in NFL Draft process. Hoping he makes everyone look stupid

I think you compound that with him not really being a gym rat, and those will definitely cause concerns.
