IMO we show out big time.
Surely we can get past this close game stuff with a just a middle of the pack D.

Offensively we'll have a totally different passing element in a guy who has shown he is a good QB with the potential to be great.

Defensively we have the BOOM. With trigga and Lawson and I even think Cass and Frost will contribute big this season. No miricale turn around but even half better as last season and UGA was our only loss I see.

If we stay healthy and don't have an A&M type breakdown we have great potential and the schedule this year looks like heaven compared to last seasons.

We lost to TAMU last year, at home, while they started a true freshman QB. Until we field a slightly above average D, I will look at every game as a dog fight.

We have been school many a times lately with new QB's. You are correct. It is no advantage for us.

Until we actually field a defense, every game will be a shoot out.

So how much can muschamp improve this situation realistically year one with who we have.

Agreed with the new QB struggles but boom also plays a factor right??

We will see. I am not expecting a major change. That takes time. A little improvement along the season is what I am expecting

I hope I am wrong and we dont give up a point all season

Here is a video by Al.com that addresses the potential effect Muschamp can have on AU based on his previous experience.

LINK

If AU's defense was a smidge better last season we win at least one, if not both, of the games we lost by 3 points. So then we're looking at a 9-4 or 10-3 win season in 2014.

With this year's schedule, a new look offense in which teams won't have much film, and an improved defense, I believe at worst we'll be 9-3 or 10-2 in the regular season.

IMO, with Muschamp's intensity and defensive coaching, I think it's reasonable to expect every returning starter to be improved. And as for guys we didn't have last year, Lawson is an upgrade, Matthews is an upgrade and Countess is an upgrade.

Even with how bad our D was at the end of last season, I just can't see a Muschamp defense with guys as talented as Lawson, Adams, Lambert, Cowart, Frost, McKinzy, Tre Williams, Jones and Matthews being anything worse than average. And average is good enough

I totally agree. But I have had my hopes crushed the past few seasons so I will keep my excitement in its case until I see some real results.

You would have to hope that we will improve dramatically. But I will just watch first.

The improvements I am looking for are not with the wins and loses. It is if the D actually tackles. If they are lined up correctly. Adjustments in real time, not waiting until half or the next week. I mean, everyone knew Mincy can't stop a deep route. So when the other team lines up their best WR on him, a retard knows a go route is coming.

Idk how much Boom can improve that D in year one. But what I do know is that having Lawson back is huge. If we had managed even a mediocre pass rush last season we win at least 1 more IMO.

Wasn't Brandon Harris a true frosh last year? It was his first start at least and we stomped LSU. Im not sure what the hell happened after that. We imploded.

LSU sucked. They were hot garbage and were already exposed by the time they came limping into Auburn

I saw something that said Petrino had never lost an opening game. Now who he played in those games, I don't know. But he knows how to draw up a great game plan given time.
