I don't even dislike the guy. He was a huge part of our success last year. I just couldn't understand why you would post that he somehow knew Pearl was retiring and that AU somehow didn't. 
I think his post was a little CYA on his part so it didn't look like he was told to hit the road when he wanted more money after signing a contract.

Ok. But what do you mean he is salty he didn't get to have a Final Four run? He had 18 points in the Final 4.

I need to pose a question. Can I just call him Coach Pearl or will it be too confusing? I don't want to call him Coach Steven, that sounds stupid. Sounds like some guy at a non-denominational church that coaches 8-year old girls softball.

Does coaching even matter anymore in NCAAMB? I mean to an extent of course.... but with enough money and facilities if we win the portal every year I feel like we'll remain sweet 16ish teams no matter the coach.

The buy in on the defensive end these days is where I think coaches make their money, besides recruiting/evaluating of course. You get a team of talented players to play tough defense, you'll go far. We've had plenty of offensive struggles of the last 4-5 years, shooting draughts, etc and our defense has enabled us to weather those storms and make good runs.
The good thing for Steven is he has basically been doing that the past few years for us. So, that is at least a route that this transition could succeed if he keeps that side of things steady.

He’s the guy that locked up the Okoro’s and Pettiford’s. But it’s a different beast when you’re recruit in your dad’s stead. Just have to wait and see.
