Jordan is under the Nike umbrella but we’d still get a better deal from them than Nike.
I don’t know how you’re drawing that conclusion. They’d give the same deal.

I feel like I remember most of the people going to Jordan got a solid bump in their deals. Which I could be way off, but if I’m a school negotiating I’m using the fact that the Jumpman logo doesn’t carry the same weight as the swoosh (especially across all sports).

Either way, Adidas is probably the most likely landing spot if we changed.

No clue but that’s why we have an AD to work out the best situation for Auburn.

I know Jhead on on3 said he heard it’ll most likely be adidas, I like adidas shoes but their uniforms are straight trash.

I'd rather have Nike over Adidas mostly for fan retail offerings. I can't imagine Auburn in Adidas gear on the field or court.

With that said I expect then to go with Adidas when the UA deal is up.

He said Nike was not living up to their commitment. He would not show the swoosh. We went to UA right after that. That's all I know.

I thought part of the issue was that the trainers, when taping up guys, would spat the cleats (tape the ankle, foot, and lower leg) and in doing so, the tape job would wrap over the middle of the shoe, covering the swoosh. Nike complained about it and wanted the trainers to tape a different way so that the swoosh was uncovered.

Tubs/the AD/etc. said they would do whatever the trainers thought was best to protect the athletes. But that was one of the motivating factors in moving to UA.

Either might be better now. UA had a distinct advantage when all their fabrics were performance while Nike was still making a lot of cotton stuff. Now that advantage is gone, obviously.
