That seems to be the Auburn fan thinking right now.
Hope and pray it gets better.
Sorry man, I know you are on the Hugh train but that guy is not a good coach. And Ive said it a million times and I will stand on that hill and die if needed. More talent does not make him a better coach. We may win a few more games with better players but in the end, he will always underperform
Neither of us know if we are right so we will just see how next year goes

cannot understand why Auburn fans continue to suck Freeze’s dick.
Freeze certainly didnt suit up and battle out there. He isnt above reproach. The way he botched QB communication all year long may hinder his pursuit for a top QB as well.

I’m not even pro-Thorne, but he was not the problem for us…
This is badly off the mark (almost as off-target as many of the PT throws). I do agree the blame goes mainly to CHF, he chose Thorne, he called plays over and over that exaggerated Thornes weaknesses, I never saw Thorne get better the entire time with Auburn ( that is coaching). In saying that I lay most of the blame at the feet of CHF, HOWEVER, Thorne made bad throws so many times in so many games, today he had a wide open receiver in the end zone when the score was 7-0 and he threw it way over his head. EVERY game he made throws like that at critical times in the game.

Some dogs on o-line would be nice no doubt. That is where my eyes go after QB but that room is so much closer to being playoff level than the qb room is. Our o-line is getting the same kinda hate the Bears o-line gets bc Caleb holds on to the ball too long and runs from phantom pressures.

Freeze called one of the worst offensive game plans I’ve ever seen tonight. I’m going to give Thorne a pass.

I don't remember ever saying anything to the contrary here. But if he can get us to the playoffs a couple times and hand a program in much better shape than we he got here to the next guy I will remember him and his tenure fondly.

We all need to acknowledge that this has happened repeatedly over the year

Every QB makes bad throws. Thorne statistically got better even if that is partially due to receivers being better. I dont care about Thorne as far as his legacy gies. I care about Thorne and any QB as far as are we giving them enough to help them.

It looks bad bc Thorne is bad. Now should Hugh be able to adjust? Hell yeah. But that's just not who he is. Doesn't mean we're doomed though.

We did need to be able to replace Too Tall and Percy better.

He chose the same Thorne for another year. "interesting "
Biggest mistake he's made so far.

I'd argue Percy was.
You may hate Thorne but number 4 in the SEC isnt Robby Ashford bad.

We need to acknowledge that Auburn football is at its worst since the 1930’s-1940’s.
We are an embarrassment. Wake up, it is true.
Who is to blame?
Lots of folks don’t want to admit it, but we are the Miss St, Ole Miss, Vandy of our youth.
This is not one bad year, this is ongoing.
We can make excuses for what is, or we can ask for better.
Ask yourselves, where are you?

Dillon Wade to LT helped stabilize us alot. And he's got another year left.

That went about as I expected. The score was closer than the actual beatdown. We are in for more of the same bumpy road. Freeze just isn't Him. He may be more stubborn and narrowminded than Gus.

We had a replacement for Percy though thank God.
Hugh's offense is good at creating explosives. It will inflate the numbers of anybody that can hit them at a rate that isn't 0%.
I will agree Ashford would've hit less of them.

What about Deandre Baker? Shouldn’t he be ready to contribute next year?
Posted on 11/30/24 at 7:15 pm to BrounHaller
Talk on the podcasts is extremely high ceiling and he'll get snaps next year. Probably would still rather roll with a portal guy if we can get one.
DeAndre Carter is the name you're looking for btw

Problems that are on PT:
Offense stagnates if we're not hitting explosives bc he can't string together a drive worth of good decisions
The processor in his brain runs a 5.8 40
His arm just isn't that talented
Hero balls on zone reads too much
Bad checks
Anti-clutch
Ugly as a mofo
Spot on.

Thorne statistically got better….
This argument does not excuse the fact that when a game was in doubt Thorne made BAD throws repeatedly.
Oklahoma game 338 yards passing 3 TD 1 INT. Great stat line! However,….Thorne makes a back breaking pick six throw.
In the Bama game score is 7-0 and an Auburn receiver wide open in the end zone , Thorne throws it over his head. Thorne has over 300 yards passing in the Iron Bowl, Great stat line!
This happened all the time with Thorne, if you, and more importantly CHF, do not recognize this then Auburn football will Suffer.
