Coaches did well. Players played hard but they are terrible at making plays regardless of rating.

Showed good effort but effort only goes so far.

I know, that's what I'm talking about and DJ just stands there like "are you sure, oh well"? At some point go Muschamp on these dudes on national television. At least bring it into the spotlight, show the players you will fight for them. Call them out publicly and not some week later days later. On the field, in the press conference. Not just the officials themselves but the SEC office. Nothing will ever change until there is accountability.

Bama got bailed out many times but we made too many mistakes to win. Fought hard after going down big and made it a game.

I think Durkin is a hard arse. But he's doing head coaching and DC stuff all the last few games. Durkin is hard nosed, disciplined, and organized.

Defense did enough to win this game. Offensive play calling in the 1st half, and drops, sealed our fate. I blame the playcalls on Nix. Drops were all on the players. Coaches can't make catches. Not running the ball the ball during our scripted plays had me scratching my head. After that, I'm screaming at the TV. 1st half was a wasted offensive opportunity. That was the difference in this game.

I hate to admit it, but I like him. His recruiting would be a big unknown.

Look at his side of the ball. It's where players thrive.

We gave up 280 yards of offense tonight to bammer. Granted we do fail to get off the field sometimes

If we hire durkin whoever here likes him deserves the continual hell we get from it.

Well one was ticky tack and could definitely be called and the other was by definition a penalty.

I do see what you're saying though let me be clear. And thats why he just needs to stay exactly where he is at. Unless the next head coach is taking venables or kirby hostage on our sideline whoever he wants to bring with him is gonna probably be a step back. And the ball coach better be a damn good talent evaluator too bc he will have about 20 spots to fill on the defense alone.

We dont have the players the top teams in our league do. He schemes well, but we don't have that stud to turn to when we need him like Nick Farley. On offense, our OL is average and we still dont have a WR1. I am not even going to talk about QB and RB. We have a long way to go on talent.

I'm not putting my name on any coach. I just think Durkin is a solid coach.

For those that don't understand his Maryland record and only look at the bottom line I would agree he was a bad head coach.

But from looking into it. His first season he had them at 6-1 and his starter and backup QB got injured. His second season his team was 2-0 and the starting QB went down with an injury again. Back then you couldn't just go swap players every year especially at a Maryland

It's not a penalty if you get pushed/blocked into the QB. I've watched plenty CFB and have not seen it called once all year. He didn't even really hit him he basically wrapped him up at the ankles while he himself was falling. Don't listen to the moron on TV paid to shill for the refs.

quote:

There are exceptions to the rule, like:

1) When the passer becomes a runner, either inside or outside the pocket
2) The defender wraps up the thrower in an attempt to make a tackle
3) The defender is not rushing unabated, or he is blocked into the thrower

Our Freshmen DL class is insanely talented. Will any of them be a Nick? Idk.

Should have some All-SEC players from it

Nick Fairley in 2010 was the most dominant SEC defensive tackle in the last 30+ years. So yea, we may not have a Fairley, but guys like 24, 17, and 15 are as good of a trio of defenders as there are in the league at getting after the QB. Arguably the best.

I’m a big believer in it is what it is. With that said it is a fact that he didn’t cut it as a HC and his record as interim is 1-2. If he was gonna be a world beater he would be. He isn’t. He’s a top 10 DC at a place that hasn’t sniffed sustained success in a decade. This is as down as I can remember Auburn. I’ve never been so aggravated or defeated with our direction as a program or results on the field. No doubt with durkin we’d have been better than with freeze but what’s a 7-5 durkin led team do over a 5-7 led freeze team? For me I’ve watched most my 20s and early 30s be riddled with shite Auburn teams and poor leadership. I’ve never been for Tennessee’s antics until this year. It’s time to show an arse or two.

I understand why my grandfather was so excited to see 2010 and 2013. I just don’t know how he stayed so patient with Auburn.

Another maddening part about this stupid game is how in the word we let Ty Simpson stumble his way completely discombobulated to 1st down on a broken play and terrible playcall on 4th and 1.

We had Ty dead to rights in the backfield and cut off his passing lane yet Ty somehow contorted his body to move sideways on two left feet to get the first down.

Plays like that showed we still had a lot of loser left in the building..
