i picked out the starters.

No we do not. We have little to no talent on D. And what little talent we do have is undeveloped in their jr year, so they are pretty much a lost cause. Do you really expect Florence to be ALL SEC becaue he had a Bama offer?

Fine. Bates not the worst in conference. Evans either. Mincy not very good. McNeal not very good. Holland and Carter both had good offer sheets. White, he's a great holder (Ha), Smith shouldn't be playing.
OL and DL recruiting: excellent under previous staff. Running backs, check. QBs, not complaining. Receivers, yep, in spades. Secondary - suspect. Linebackers, lacking.

Cap'n, look at my member date. I know you like to run everything down. I get it. We've got players. Think me a dumbass. It's not going to hurt my feelings. Moooooving on.

Apparently nobody in the bunker does either.
Then that's usually a good reason to hire someone

Not gonna argue with O-line, but not only has our D-line been uncoached, but we take them in odd, unhealthy spurts. Kinda like how we don't have an offensive linemen committed right now and we took everyone and their mother last year.

Running backs, check.
We have a grand total of zero power running backs on scholarship.

QBs, not complaining.
You're not complaining about Clint Moseley and Kiehl Frazier being the only people that stood between our true freshman starting the last four games of the season?

Linebackers, lacking.
Linebacker might be the one position we're worse off at than quarterback. Losing Rah-Rah hurt. BAD.
-At least until this new class comes in.

auyushu- No that one play doesnt make or break his career but a 17 - 15 SEC record shows what you can expect from him in this conference.

Because he was 5-11 in his first two years, then went 12-4 his last two. Would have had another good year this year, obviously trending upward. you have a bad argument here.

Why don't you look at all the stats before you make an argument? When he had his system implemented and his players at the school he had Arkansas rolling.

Yeah its a bad argument because just like the petrino haters the ones in love with him are only going to see what they want. He went 17-15 in the sec and is not suddenly going to become a better coach just because he comes to Auburn. He would still have to beat lsu and bama, outscore a&m, and play against a better ole miss and state team. All this while cleaning up the chizik left. Hopefully all the arguing is for nothing they will get someone else.
weagle I watched the games. His arky teams had no defense and he didnt beat bama or win the west.

If beating Saban on the reg is part of the criteria, there aren't many candidates......
Whether you like him or not, Petrino is the best SEC ready coach available right now. Any argument to the contrary is false.

You literally are a moron. He went 17-15 with Arkansas. You do realize before Petrino showed up that they had only had 2 winning SEC records in Arkansas in the 10 previous years? Petrino had back to back 10 win seasons, Arkansas had only 1 10 win season since 1990 until Petrino showed up. Also, his first two years at Arkansas was just cleaning up the mess that Houston Nutt left him so of course he was going to do poorly. Also remember he did that at the top of the SEC West ever
Let's not forget that Auburn has access to significantly more recruits than Arkansas does. It is oneo f the major reasons why AU is a better/more attractive job than Arky. We can pull easily from AL, GA, FL and MS while it is more difficult for Arkansas. These high profile recruits are players Petrino never had access to and would help push his offense over the top. Look at what he was able to do with less talent, imagine having more talent.
Finally, it should be noted that Petrino's defenses improved every year at Arkansas and were 17th nationally at UL. He never will have Saban type defenses but that is not why you hire the guy. Especially considering that Auburn will commit more money to DCs than Arkansas did under Petrino, he will be able to hire a top tier DC.
So stop being fricking stupid. If you think that Petrino has baggage argue it. If you start arguing against Petrino's credentials as a top tier coach or as Tom COughlin 2x Super Bowl winning coach calls him, the best play caller in all of football, I am going to RA every fricking post of yours you dumbfrick

If you cant handle someone talking about your dream man then go somewhere else. I dont care. He only won half his sec games and couldnt field a defense. What he done at UL is meaningless in the sec. You can call that a great coach all you want but I dont.

Who has a better resume that is a realistic choice then?
If you don't like Petrino because of his "baggage" just say so. It's easier for me to believe.
