Are freshman required to stay on-campus at AU now?

I will also add Bama is much faster in response to scholarship applications. Bama just for a general academic excellence scholarship turn around was about 1.5 months. Still waiting on Auburns response and that’s been 4 months ago

Does anybody know a golden ticket job that doesnt require calculus or rocket science?
Pretty sire I'd pay 100,000 per year If I knew I wasn't destined to fail. Lot of the degrees are ROI negative. Even the nursing degrees come with drawbacks- middle class meaning government's piggybank.

First year out of college makes around 50-55k. Two years experience gets ya to 60-70 once you switch firms. Bout as close to an easy golden ticket as you can get.

Not pointed at your directly, but if anyone thinks 30k per year is a lot for college hasn't shopped around. Tulane is close to 100k. And no, anyone with ambition will not attend a directional school. Being a talented student is comparable to a 5* football recruit. Craziness goes on to get them.

I will give this advice to younger parents on here for planning. Next fall will be my 3rd child I send off to college.
First I’m not a huge fan of the 529 plan. If you are go for it.
GPA is huge. Test scores are huge. Have them start practicing and preparing for the ACT even in the 9th grade by doing online practice test.
If you’re high school overs dual enrollment with a community college do it. It’s cheap and fairly easy to knock out a couple first year courses. Like 101 and 102 English and 101 and 102 history.
Start looking into scholarships in your students junior year.
Have your student do many things outside of the school to build their resume. Volunteer work, working with the local city government be a well rounded person essentially.
Save 24-25k to give to your student for expenses over the course of their 4 years. They can give themselves a $500/month allowance so you know they don’t starve to death like I did in school lol.
AP classes in high school are a good option as well but if you don’t pass the test you don’t get the college credit.

I’m not positive at AU but I know UAB they are. Without an exception ruled in the students favor. And that exception most of the time is granted per zip code. High median income zip code no exception low median income most likely an exception granted

Jang unless you take some dumbass degree a solid degree in most fields from AU almost assures you upper middle class income. Stay away from social work unless you are going to be a psychiatrist. Teachers in general starting out pay is still a little low. Obviously for AU if you are going to be poultry or beef farmer there will be investments the grad has to make for land and getting started but a lot of those folks offer assistance and advice to large farms and get paid by them until they get their own established. Go for passion and happiness over what you think your top pay would be

Most of these paywall sites can be bypassed by using the “reader” function FYI.
The part that really shocked me was a 15 million dollar renovation to the presidents house. What are you doing to it that could possibly cost 15 million?

I will say and most kids don’t know coming out of middle schools but some do but having by the students junior year of high school a career based curriculum. Like if your kid isn’t college material or doesn’t want to go to college and wants to be a electrician or wielder they should be able to provide more then going off to trade school a couple days a week for a few hours

I was lucky. Both of my kids got scholarships that covered the majority of the tuition. I paid living expenses out of pocket. No student debt at graduation. Engineering for my son. Nursing for my daughter. Both had great offers upon graduation and are doing well. The advice about test scores and GPA were huge in getting the scholarships.

In my first year at Auburn, I paid $100 for tuition.

Experimental and development sciences have skyrocketed tuition. Companies are willing to use testing at the academic levels and pay the universities for those studies along with the government but isn’t shared down to the students on pushing tuition higher and higher to get to the “good” sciences schools. Win win for the universities

Bottom line is all these amenities cost money. If people were forced to love in rat hole dorms, they would bitch. When they build something nice they bitch about tuition increases. You can't win.
I am not sure what the point of the article was, tbh. College coats money. We either pay for it through tuition or go the European route and have "free college" paid by high taxes. Also, what they dont tell you about the "free" Euro model is it is much harder to get accepted over there. Few people attend college there relative to the U.S.

The administrative bloat is where I think there is some deserved ire but I have that problem with basically every organization and governmental entity
