Corch would chime in but he's too busy patting himself on the back for telling everyone our basketball team that replaced 9/10 players wouldn't be as good.
I was hearing 4 seed, Steven is the man in the preseason lil bro.

You literally contribute nothing.
I take that back you sometimes bring an IM thread to prove you are not always a wet blanket but you always resort to talking about bait. Poor effort

What Cignetti has done is amazing. Dude knows how to evaluate talent and coach it up.
I do believe their schedule contributes to a quick turnaround as well. Glad we don't play that schedule because it would be boring as he'll. I do tip my hat to them for winning their 2 big games to remain undefeated though.

He still has a unicorn mystique about him. Other good coaches in the same conference are not winning like he does. Matt Campbell, Fleck, the former Cincinatti coach, even Bielema in his prime. They are good, not great.

I was hesitant to start a thread asking the most basic of questions...
How TF did Indiana of all places do this?
Freaking INDIANA!!
Not even Nebraska, or aTm, or *Miami. But Indiana!
*And speaking of the ACC, what the actual hell is Duke doing winning a title? Clemson? FSU? Miami? North Carolin..well,
yeah.

Lots of reasons. The interesting part will be same as Vandy. How will they sustain that success in the next few years. We, as Auburn, should know that great seasons come along. The issue with doing it consistently. Thats where the stacking of talent helps way more.
They were coached well, had some benifit of some easy games and they played great all year.

Indiana and vandy are both great stories because most did not expect it. But like you said, sustainability is a huge hurdle. As an aside, the euphoria Alabama fans feel today will soon be replaced by the dawning awareness that they will not be able to sustain the Saban era of dominance.
9 sec conference games will humble everyone next year.

Indiana and Vandy have elite college QBs. This is the main reason they are winning. They also can recognize talent on defense which doesn’t always have to be the 5*’s. The fact Freeze didn’t go after either is the reason we suck. We had Cam and Nick, we were elite. Name a year we won something with an avg QB? NEVER

Freeze getting Pavia wasn't ever going to mean anything.
Freeze made players worse. Look at Ashton with Freeze and without him

Easy games don’t get you beating a good OSU team. Undefeated is tough in any league, but the Big 10 isn’t some Mid America or Mountain West.
I get Auburn was poorly coached, not properly prepared or used its talent but heck…

Depends on your feelings about Stidham. I dont really have a feel for how the fanbase remembers him. I have him not living up to the hype but being plenty solid.

We, me included, were probably too hard on him but we basically hated him for having happy feet. Dude would not stay in the pocket.
He was probably better than we gave him at the time but he still was not great. Some of his issues was our deteriorating offense line, some with our offensive play calling, some was that he just was not great.
He won some big games for Auburn and overall , was one of the better QBs we have had in a while

Experienced QB coach + Saban recruiting coordinator - fantastic combination in addition to the easy schedule

Dude I dont even think Saban would go undefeated at Indiana

Not seeing anyone arguing. Just trying to understand it all. Freeze had a window of success @ Ole Miss, greatly due to a super recruiting class. Beat bama 2x, but what did it ultimately get him?
Indiana. When's the last time anyone saw them in the top 10? Historically speaking?
All-time record 525–719–46 (.425)
Bowl record 3 - 11
