Honestly I loved seeing Bo throw it away or into the ground when nothing was there. Stidham holding onto the ball was the most infuriating thing and to see Bo realize a play was done throw it away, and move to the next play was most welcomed

Agree to disagree, but I'm happy to keep my thoughts on Gus confined to the rant and leave this as a safe space for those that need it.
My wife is pretty tough anyway.
I'm just glad Bo Nix knows more about football than you ever will.

Those complex Gus passing concepts. 2 receivers, throw to field or boundary.
You do realize it was a play with 15 seconds left in the game while already in FG range and down 1, right? We did not have a timeout. A sack, tackle in bounds, or turnover loses the game. Simple design there is smart. Either you get the one-on-one on the field side OR maybe you get a quick shot to the boundary before getting out of bounds to shorten FG.

Did he have a great night in terms of taking over the team and showing moxie?
Him diving head long into 3 Oregon defenders to keep the game alive on 4th and 3... I was so damn pumped and he won me over right there in that moment.
I'll be honest and let yall know I was calling for Joey several times.

I’m right there with you. I was a proponent of Joey the whole preseason, but just seeing a QB with that fire in his gut made me a big fan of Bo. That heart he had in the game reminded me of Tebow.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned on the Auburn Rant it’s that we’re chock full of offensive coordinators on here.

I don’t know, the play calling in the middle two quarters was infuriating. I might be the biggest Gus fan on this board but the lack of zone read plays for nearly half the game had me saying bad things.
Especially after having to endure an entire 2018 season of ineffective drop back Gus offense.
His comments in the presser were encouraging. We will see how it plays out.

Yep. This offense has to run the zone read. It has to. We don’t have to run it as much as we did with Cam and Nick, but it has to be done or else the LB’s don’t do anything but follow the RB.

The play calling wasn't great for lot of the game, I agree. It's just complaining about a simple route in that specific instance isnt valid

To be fair, our route trees are fricking abysmal. That play was fine, but overall our WR variety is laughable. Hell, I think we have more decoy routes than we do anything else

And it also opens up your sore spot, the passing game in the middle of the field. Marshall had guys open by 20 yds against a spectacular FSU defense (among others) for that reason. Hopefully we can get back to some of that. Would help out our OL too.
