Rig, I’ve heard… good…well?
…I’ve heard things about you.
However, I haven’t had a chance to actually make your acquaintance to date.
Apparently you made the call to onboard me here about a year ago when my tenure at ITAT went tits-up.
I appreciate you letting me hang my hat here & join in ya’lls conversations & discourse.
Thanks for hitting the “accept” button when I was seeking asylum & looking for a new asylum when I rolled up here.

Modelo and lime tonight. Trying to get over the crud and hoping to trade my NyQuil for some Makers 46 later
Wife is making ramen with some leftover smoked shoulder from last night. Watch says I’ve taken <2k steps today.
Crazy combo of activities. LOL. My step count is way low as well. Ive been trying to get walks in atleast 4-5 days a week. My normal day gives me about 2500 and sitting on my arse most of the day. Need to stop that
Tonight, I put some steaks and corn on the smoker and it was fantastic. I dont know why I dont do corn more. It is delicious and so very easy to smoke. I am actually drinking a few girl beers. Corona Premier. Will sit out back later tonight and have something different. Bought a new bottle of tequila today. May break the seal on it.

Detwiler’s. It’s an Amish market place. They have great meat. Seafood as well.
I wish I would have taking some pictures of the tomahawk ribeyes they had tonight. They were absolutely unbelievable, but one would feed three people.

I am not a certified Gardner or anything but have worked with plants my whole life: optimal time for planting shrubs/trees is usually during the dormant season when it’s neither too hot or freezing to let the roots establish which can take a few months. So usually Sep-Nov and Jan-Mar for Florida. Just fyi to bring up with the contractor if you are planning to be spending a good bit.
Yeah, we typically did that when I lived in Georgia as well. Things down here just don’t go dormant brother. They pretty much grow 365.
Landscaper is pretty reliable, so I’m gonna go on his word that it would be fine. I really don’t know the rules here in Florida on planting and things because everything grows all around.

FYI: Trout on the Sipsey Fork eat the black Spotsticker buzzbait.

Winning
Rolled to FL's forgotten coast yesterday. 1st beach day will be today. But my arse will be under the tent, long sleeve shirt on.
A life that includes growing up on the coast, working at the beach, sports all year long, fishing, and flying, leads to skin cancer for a blue eyed, blonde kid. Trying to avoid anymore cuts and burns from the dermatologist.
Cold beer still taste good on the beach, in the shade.

New marketing opportunity. LOL.
I only caught one trout in Lake Lanier after fishing there over 6000 days. And it was on topwater.

It was always a concern for me. Though I have dark skin in general, I always worried about being in the sun so much. I did bass fishing so no T-Top. And most of the days, I was out there over 8 hours. Plus, I played in the sun when I was not working
I had two things burned off in all those years and nothing the last couple but I do worry about it. Something is going to kill me at some point. Im doing what I can but am going to try and live it up till that happens. I get why you are staying out of it and I probably should as well but Im not gonna hide.
It I was fair skinned or had lots of issues over the years I would do the same. I try and stay under my T top as much as I can and have a big floppy hat to keep it off my face and neck. I have probably used a 55 gallond drun of sunscreen over the years. My daughter use to tell me that it was my smell. LOL. She said I always smelled like sunscreen

I got melanoma cut out of my lower chest, basal cell upper chest, and I get something burned off my face 4 times a year. It's not fun and now the Mrs hardly lets me see the sun without being plasti-dipped in sunscreen.
Kinda funny story-
Took the wife (onlyfans for pics) fishing 2 weeks ago. We'd caught 7 or 8 and found a shady spot for lunch & took a swim to cool off. We started fishing again and she was on me about sunscreening my hands again after swimming. I have some AFTCO fishing gloves, so I put those on instead. Well, minutes later, I get a line over some light limbs of a over hang. My bait is dangling free on the other side. I make the dumb decision to grab my crank bait in the other hand and try to pull the line over. Wind blows or current or whatever, the boat starts heading down river and tension increases on the bait. I push my button on the baitcaster and pow- my lure slingshots thru my finger.
I was an idiot and I knew it before it happened. We're 7 miles up river. I tried to push it thru and couldn't get the barb exposed. Well, long story- but I had that damn glove on for 4 hrs while we floated downstream, loaded boat and got the Dr to cut it out. Think I'll just do sunscreen next time, no gloves.

Aftco has nice long sleeve shirts. I am very dark myself but even I need to give my skin a break.
With that said humidity makes me want to take my aftco off

I think you had recommended them on the outdoor board a while back and I bought two hoodies. Love them for fishing.

Yea typically when we get hooked, its due to stupidity. The back side of the fingers is probably one of the worst areas to get hooked. There are so many nerves there and its so sensitive, it is almost impossible to get it out using the line trick. Plus, one hand is basically useless.
I have gotten hooked a few times in the hand like that. Usually trying to land a fish that is hooked on the back hook of the bait. I go to either lip or grab the fish around the side and they jump and get me. It really sucks.
I have pulled out over 50 hooks probably. That is typically a place where I leave it to a doc. Pushing that one through would probably give you Icon status. Its a thick hook and would have not been fun. Then you would need someone to cut the barb while you hold it through. LOL. My wife would pass out. Not bad for a ER Pharmacist.
On another note, I am not going to be the one to make fun of Jangs socks and sandals/FlipFlops/sliders but someone needs to do it. He just tee'd it up for us
