Just put on some Christmas Jazz and poured a bourbon while doing some unexpected online car shopping.

I'll just paste my previous post on another board:

A semi was practicing the pit manoeuvre on me Tuesday night.

I was in the far right lane about to merge from I-24 to I-840 when the truck driver to my left decided that she wanted to be in my lane. Truck struck my left rear quarter panel. I tried to correct but she kept coming over. Spun me left, in front of the truck that was now hitting the left side of my sideways skidding car at 70mph. Ended up striking the far left concrete barrier (5 lanes) in the horse's arse. It really sucked for a long 5 seconds. The truck stopped and admitted to the cops that she struck me. No pictures were required.

Drive carefully and use seatbelts tRant peeps.

Hey Lanier. My wife and I have been fighting the flu this week. Tested negative for COVID on multiple occasions then tested positive for the flu.

I guess we’re just old school like that.

Imma share my steak recipe.

I've been doing the reverse sear thing. The last one was my best and I didn't use the Egg.

Steak come up to room temp with kosher salt and fresh peper

Oven at 175, heated until 110 internal
Cast iron at 400 with canola (I get smoke any hotter)
A small coating of kosher salt in pan and add steak for ~90 sec a side, (good crust)

pull steak and place in another simmering pan with butter and garlic for a quick bath, rest for 10 min.

The best one out of a dozen or so tries with the egg and reverse sear.

I'm currently getting yelled at by my smoking hot wife (you wish pics) for typing recipes to strangers instead of drinking wine with her. Peace out homies, Merry Christmas!

Didnt you get your flu shot baw? I get mine every year. It is required for my wife and the hospital has free shots for our family. Hate to hear you are sick man. Not this time of year.

You know about where I live and our hospitals are busting at the seems. My wife works at a smaller hospital and they have over 100 covid cases right now. I heard that Gainesville has over 240 people hospitalized for covid right now. I guess the amigos up there have not practiced safe distancing.

Hope you feel better man. I hate being sick. frick that.

Im dealing with two drunk women tonight. My wife and her friend went shopping today and they are trashed right now. I hate being the semi sober one. I just was not cut out for the role

Thanks.

Just a little sore but it really was terrible. At one point, once free of the truck, I was going backwards at 60 in rush hour Interstate traffic and I remember someone making a great avoidance move.

2014 Mustang that crushed around me but the passenger cabin wasn't damaged and the car called emergency services before I was completely stopped. I thank the Ford design team.

Working on old cars and old airplanes, and drinking a little bourbon. Could be worse. Need to get the rest of the decorations up. Finally got the lights on the tree this morning, just not feeling it this year. It's been feast or famine. Sometimes you just want the middle.

I think there's a ton of different ways to cook a great steak. Me, I'm all for a Pittsburgh Rare Bone In Ribeye -- but any of you boys ever try either of Alton Brown's Top Sirloin recipes? One is called Election Night Steak, basically a top sirloin cooked medium rare in a white-hot cast iron skillet, with a rest in the middle of the cooking process. The other is called Thermal Shock Sirloin, and you cook that straight from frozen under the broiler without thawing. I was pleasantly surprised by both. Neither one is a Sunday afternoon ballgame stand-around-the-coals steak, but either recipe makes an awfully good, quick weeknight steak for like 7 bucks a pound. Damn good in fajitas, also.

Maybe 2021 doesn't frick us all.

::enters thread::

Unrelated to your hot wives (rule #1)

Girlfriend and I broke up a couple months ago. Back doing the online dating thing.

Had a date tonight, one lined up tomorrow and one on Sunday (possibly two)

shite is exhausting.
