If you don't recruit who gets what NIL checks that are available?

This guy is a dead man walking. I hope I am wrong.

Well we are getting 55 million for the TV contract alone, athletic dept specific donations, scholly funds for stadium seats, various and sundry other revenue sources.

We better be setting aside about 15 million annually for NIL funding for next year.

And it will escalate, particularly with something new like this, overspending by some schools, then others really overspend to catch up, and eventually some semblance of regulations will be put in place a few years down the road.

But we better be strong for the next few years until the dust settles, or, no matter who is recruiting, we will have dismal results.

We better figure it out. And Harsin better learn to appreciate the help. The next few years are gonna be the wild west. Until companies start getting burned for spending millions on college athletes that never amount to shite.

Stop saying “no one” and “everyone” in arguments.

They usually don’t work out

Literally no one is mad that we were given 20 million dollars. People are mad that Neville's only gave the money to have their name on our arena and/or that Auburn sold out to do it, instead of allowing that honor to go to someone whose actions are deemed worthy.

I can't believe I had to explain that to you. Jesus Christ this board...

So exactly what I just said….

Shitting on the guy for giving $20 mill to get his name on the arena.

Wasnt it to honor his parents and grandfather who were Auburn grads?

I agree 25, what exactly constitutes deserving your name on a building if 20 million does not do it? Id like some enlightenment.

That is not how it works. The school or TUF cannot directly pay them. It has to be part of an advertising deal. They are compensated for the use of their Name, Image, or Likeness to sell a product.

Now, if you are saying you and I should set aside $15MM for NIL annually, that would be correct. I'm going to be a little short though.

Understand how NIL works, my point was, there is plenty of revenue coming in, just a matter of ramping it up more and designating a portion for NIL before the check is written.

Ive said this many times, but it should be an entire organization, one side for fundraising and the other to negotiate all contracts, current players as well as incoming, that resembles a front office of an NFL team.

We should also expand our in house recruiting with an entire division dedicated to touching bases (through intermediaries like high school coaches) on current college players we missed on, or could use, that way they are ready to sign on the dot when they enter the portal |NOT to start a relationship because its too late then.

The portal is akin to free agency now and we see who is successful in the NFL when utilizing it correctly. And to treat it as if its normal recruiting is a waste, these kids want a home before they hit the portal.

And by the way, the rumor about "Harsin doesnt want poor black players to get NIL money" is comical.

The NIL as I understand it cannot come directly from the University so I will restate the question. If you tick off the boosters who writes the NIL checks?

That is not what it is said about Harsin and poor black people. In general, he believes chasing the NIL takes away from football time.

Probably some truth but it’s also a reality so get someone in that can help teach time management and provide schedules

I think the NIL has a process in place to allow the student/Athlete to be taught how to use their NIL money, manage it, how taxes apply to this income they will receive and the NIL will give advice on best options...
