Which would be the most likely landing spot for Gustav? Texas Tech or UNC?

Texas tech. Didn’t unc hire someone already?

They are finalizing the contract details with Mack Brown

I expect Maryland and Purdue jobs to be open as well too.

What are they saying?

Auburn officials are encouraging Malzahn to find another job. Which means the cards are in his hands.

What’s the benefit to Gus for doing that?

Less pressure. Less of a chance of him ruining his reputation by getting fired. Once that happens you can bet your arse he isn't getting a top 30 HC job. Maybe not even a power 5 HC job.
Right now, he at least has SOME value to sell to a mid-lower tier P5 program but once he's fired, it's tough to sell him to a fanbase as the guy to bring them to prominence.....at least unless he spends 2-3 years on the talk show circuit (which won't happen because Gus is awful on TV).

I can only imagine the LOLing between Sexton and Gus right now.

I think Gus is probably genuinely concerned about his job security, but he’s so delusional that he thinks he can turn it around next season by changing essentially nothing. We may change offensive coordinators, but he’ll still be calling the plays, guaranteed.

I’ll say it again:

They don't have an opening. Gus to Colorado makes more sense than Gus to another SEC school. He needs a change in conference.

He’d do well at Texas tech. The B12 defense is so bad he may be able to score
Posted on 11/26/18 at 3:48 pm to Skyler97
That's actually not a bad place for him. He would be out of the spotlight and given time to work on offense again.

It’s amazing what happens when agents start making calls.
Jimmy Sexton: “Hey Ross Bjork. What’s up my friend? Listen, I know y’all have been luke warm on Matt. Gus needs to get out of Auburn. Y’all interested? Thought I would give y’all first dibbs.”
This is what Auburn has told them to do. Shop Gus around.
