I'll give Gus credit, the recruiting has been the best I've ever seen at Auburn

1) The recruiting has not been balanced (Its not all about stars).

As to Tommy Tuberville, nice guy, folksy, tells a great story, awesome at Alumni events. Gus, quirky, no good stories, terrible at Alumni events..

We want to win and every coach Auburn has had has won, but we want to like the coach.. How I rank the coaches from a likability standpoint.

Love: Shug, Dye

Like: Tubs, Chiz, Barfield

Confused and angry: Gus

Hate: Tater Tot Bowden (He won games, but was a terrible human being)

So Gus only ranks above Bowden which is a dang low bar.

And the one coach that brought us our latest NC, only lasted 4 years which was even less than Bowden or Barfield, who had terrible careers.

amazing...

ohh..and you're not going to give Bill Oliver any cred? lol..

All of Gus' wins lately feel like the 3-2 game, you walk away saying wtf did I just witness.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, feels like 3-2.

I’m very grateful for us winning 6 in a row over Bama.
(Aka from my 6th grade year to my first year of college)

But Tuberville was an average coach that beat a below average Bama many of those years.

Which goes back to my other thread where I said I like better beating teams when they’re obnoxious and proud.

Tubs also played GA when Richt was coaching them. He had a winning rcd against him.

Gus has played more top 10 teams than Tubs..here is 1 little tidbit...

Tuberville coached against only 3 top 3 teams in 10 seasons while Malzahn has coached against 9 top 3 teams in only five-plus seasons.

Yeah. Our current conference is much different than the conference it was then. It was basically LSU slobber knocker and Georgia while we had Tuberville.
