I keep seeing all these football analyst staffers coming and going the past month, and it is hard to gauge how they are assigned and their effectiveness to the coaches.

I assume they are critical specialists, so I was wondering how many do we have compared to the other top teams in the SEC(Alabama, GA, LSU...)?

Presumably the same amount as every other team in the league as I believe there’s a limit

Edit: after a simple google there looks to be no limit so idk

Auburn had 38 support staffers last season. 7-8 were analysts. Looks like Alabama had 12

Saban started all that bullshite. It was his way of getting around cheating with too many staffers. They weren't coaches, they were "analysts" .

He sure did. He has a staff large enough now that it’s almost 1 to 1 coaching.

The ol' Butch Jones "analyst" trick when he's clearly on the sidelines coaching

I read an article 3 or 4 years ago. bama had the largest support staff in the 50’s and Auburn was 2nd with 29.

I dont know what they are called but at this years Iron Bowl warm up, there must have been 50 guys in red polos on the field with the Alabama team warming up. Looked like they were doing some kind of coaching. I actually brought that up in our discussion that night.

How can there not be a cap on these analysts? Pretty ridiculous and unfair to the poor teams like Missouri.

What's wild is the head coaches that Alabama has on staff.

They could have this year:

Butch Jones
Steve Sarkasian
Nick Saban
Hugh Freeze
Charlie Strong

They should never lose a game

Right there was chatter of him joining Alabama this year again. Saban tried to hire him last year but comish wouldn't allow it.

yes, I think we will see a rule limiting the number soon as it is becoming a loophole to have extra coaches.

Forgot about that, is Malik set to start? He will do good in Hugh's offense.
