We went toe to toe with arguably the best team in the Nation with no real players. We don’t have 1 guy that would start for them. We have zero 5stars to their dozen. Players make plays and we just don’t have them. Dropped pass in the end zone, dropped catch by Rivaldo to get us in fg range. Another 1st down dropped by Fairweather Robby running backwards taking us out of the red zone muffed punt not looking for the ball on Hail Mary.

Brother Hugh had us punching well above our class yesterday but at the end of the day they got the jimmies and joes we got what we got and it showed when it came time to make plays.

The good news is this is the worst roster Freeze will ever.

Well said, and I agree.

It’s just disheartening to be THAT close to beating them, only to have it snatched away. Again.

Teams that don’t know how to win will find ways to lose.

We used to know how to win. We have lost that culture over the last ten years. It will take time to get it back. If the guys can learn from this, and use it to finish a game, this loss will have been worth it.

He will be making the same decisions no matter what roster he has

However he'll have top players that can make the plays that were not made yesterday.

I think Freeze can get us back to beating bamuh back in T-town like we use to do.

Everyone keeps saying that this is the worse roster that he will have. We literally have one OL recruit and one QB. We already have 3 and 4 stars on roster now who aren't panning out so what do you know or have seen that shows you that this is the worst class that he will have. And remember, this class isn't even signed yet?

What was Robby even doing? Got dammit Jville.

And thank God for Corches dude, Var, and also for Pritchett, unsung heroes that gave their all for that dub.

Yes sir it is. And looking back at all the things that led up to it all boils down to just not having players. We were in the red zone could have gone up by 8 with 6ish minutes to go but we drop a pass in the back of the end zone. Then the muffed punt ect.

We squared up pretty good with Bama Ole Miss and UGA this year. His in-game coaching wasn’t perfect but let’s be real. We didn’t belong on the field with none of those teams

No matter the roster, we will always be in close games and coaches have to put those players in a position to win.

More good players will not fix shite scheming. All our rivals have good players too.

I don’t see what happened yesterday as a roster issue.

Fairweather dropped two chunk plays, Ashford running backwards and who knows how many frick ups the other WRs had. Even DJ James has to be more physical and not turn his back to the QB. We took the two best programs in the country down to the wire with what amounts to a glorified JUCO team.

-putting in ashford hurt
-not recognizing there was a sub punt returner hurt
-the disaster of 4th & 31 letting Milroe sit back all day hurt
-New Mexico State is still nauseating

At some point he has to be held accountable for these big time moments. It takes 4 full quarters to win a game.

Why is his back turned when Milroe is 40 yards away?

We were literally in a position to win and our scrub DB got bullied by a top 100 wr in the end zone. It matters

The play that stands out is the dropped pass in the back of the end zone. Gary was gushing about the coverage. The DB was behind the receiver. It hit him in the hands. He just dropped it.

To me, that was as big as the muff. Getting only 3 there hurt. As we were driving down, I was debating on whether to go for 2 or not after the TD. It would have put us up by 9. Two scores at that point in the game would have been huge.

The play call was good. The players didn’t execute. Hopefully, we’ll get some WRs in who can make that catch in those moments.

Right??!!?? In that situation, with that many people in the end zone, everyone should have had their eyes on the QB, then reacted to the ball when he threw it. There is no excuse for turning your back on him there.

Devils advocate time, do y’all think Bama fans would have been after Saban for Milroe throwing 2 passes beyond the LOS, the center going Nolan Ryan at our 6, kicker missed an easy FG and allowing us to run for 244 yards, if they had lost? Especially since they have the best recruits money can by.

Sometimes it is evident we dont know how to win. I think DJ James has done some good things for us and I am not going to be too harsh on him, but he failed us there. The coaches failed us and him as well though. There is no reason why we should leave those passes to chance with one verus one plays. One versus one plays are punchers chance plays so why in the world are we allowing punchers chance plays on 4th and 31. Auburn makes defending 3rd and 20 fricking miserable as well.

Yep. Watching us over the last few years, it’s amazing how easy our defense makes it look to convert 3rd and 20, while, at the same time, our offense makes 3rd and 5 looks like some Herculean task.

Those were just bonehead mistakes. Not lack of talent. As far as us gashing them we were scheming it up. Nothing special our guys were doing other than running hard and blocking

Absolutely! Once Saban retires and they hire the next Ray Perkins.
