I said earlier that Miami’s recruiting class was 70th when Cristobal arrived and 15th when it ended. He even stole Citizen out from under our noses. I’m tired of the excuses-especially when effort is part of the problem.

Recruiters can recruit…

It makes a lot of sense to me. Recruiting is about building relationships with kids and coaches. It takes time and effort. Even the best coaches have to make this a priority in order to recruit the talent needed to be competitive.

Between Gus and Harsin we have to have about 30-40 defensive backs by now

Bad Mood may be my all time favorite episode. That was such a creative way to get your kid out of a funk. And it was hilarious!

Way too soon to analyze his recruiting. The fact that this is being discussed as a rationale for firing the man is insane to me.

The analysis is that how your first full recruiting class, example Harsin this past class is what the “normal” will be for that coach. So if his “first full” class is 18th you can expect his classes to remain around that level. Essentially saying that in reality everyone that says it takes 2-3 years to build relationships is wrong that how you recruit year 1 is how you will continue to recruit.

Recruiting has definitely been one of my big issues with Harsin and staff.

IT IS THAT IMPORTANT!!!!

Bluey is great. The first episode I ever watched was the one where bandit takes the kids to the pool without Chile. Obviously hilarity ensues. But the end when bluey looks up and sees her parents kissing…….I swear someone was cutting onions. That show hits the feels.

Or when Chile chases her dad and they share the moment on the dock….damn.

Napier arrived at Florida and stole Jack Pyburn and Jalen Farmer from us in 59 days.

It’s pretty clear that Harsin just sucks at recruiting.

That’s great. I’m glad Napier has the support needed from the start to do his job effectively. It shows.

Switch “support” for “ability” and you’re correct

Are we back to PTB slicing his tires so that he can’t make it out to croot?

I didn’t say that, you did. But don’t give them any ideas.

What support is Harsin missing on the recruiting trails that’s hurting our recruiting efforts? He has a plane. He is provided two vehicles per year. He cherry picked his own staff. He is in close proximity to multiple fertile hotbeds of recruits in his region. What is he missing?

Auburn has signed 17 5*’s - All Time per 247

LINK /

Alabama has signed 67.

But that’s on Harsin.

We were ranked 15 nationally this year compared to 30 last year after firing Gus. Anybody else think recruiting probably isn’t the issue? Tubs had several classes ranked in the teens and USC -west has been in top 10 a lot in last 10yrs.

I think we just need to realize that Harsin is just to mean to coach football.

This is where I'm at. It's obvious that recruiting is important nobody is arguing that. But you can't fire a coach because you don't like the number next to Auburn's recruiting class after one season. Gus brought in a lot of highly ranked players that never panned out either because of fit, or work/discipline issues. Harsin brought in some solid players and transfers to Auburn last year that contributed over some of our highly ranked guys.

Everyone might very well be right that recruiting at this level will not get it done in the long run, but you have to let it play out on the field first. I personally love the idea of having a bunch of guys that are bought into Auburn, want to work their tails off to prove themselves, and play above their ranking. I would rather root for those guys then entitled players that think they are too good to put in the effort or stay out of trouble. But I don't want to take that route to a losing record every year. You have to give the team a chance and then fire somebody once the record on the field proves its not working. After more than one year.
