Ive always thought harsin was a mediocre hire but i do think a lot of his staff may have been forced on him. Now he and his assistant may have auburn by the balls for libel and defamation. Could be a situation where they give him what he wants to keep them from suing their asses off.

All i was told from someone who works in the President's office is that Harsin, his lawyers, Greene and others went into samford Hall this morning, and when the came out Harsin was all smiles...

Sounds like he's staying...

Not necessarily responding to you Dave, but my two cents are this. They had to do something with the severe amount of attrition in players and coaching staff. So they did an in depth review of Harsin and the program and probably only learned he’s a dick. He’s not here to make friends but maybe if he is staying this is a wake up call that this is the big leagues and he will be scrutinized. This day and age of media they are looking for clicks anywhere they can get them. Winning solves everything period.

This is a really dumb take. Please stop acting like a lawyer when you have no clue how that works.

This whole saga has exposed a lot of you as unstable, highly emotional, and prone to overreact to every small piece of information.

Once rumors began leaky damage was being done, but having the coach we all thought we were going to have next season isn’t a guaranteed 5 or more year death sentence to the program.

Are you really asking if Saban and other coaches don't work their teams as hard or harder than Harsin? Really?

I fully supported Harsin staying day 1-3, after that I didn’t see how we can recover from negative press and recruiting.

Short term, I agree.

Long term, if they fired him over a fabricated story I think that would cause irreparable damage to Auburn’s reputation in the coaching world.

Yes, for 12 years and I handle defamation cases.

So just to break it down for you - unless someone from the administration or BOT flat out says Harsin slept with her, he has no case for defamation. Simply investigating whether something bad happened isn’t grounds for a defamation claim and I have heard nothing of anyone actually making a defamatory statement other than a bunch of shite wads on the Rant who should just sit the frick upon stead of destroying someone’s family.

But if the BOT was behind the flow of information to the ‘media’ in regards to the affair and ‘racist’ behavior he would definitely have a case against them. Because i dont see how anyone could say that wouldnt be damaging to his/ their character in a public forum.

Defamation/libel are some of the hardest civil cases to prove right? Because you have to prove so much in terms of intent and other things of that nature?

Then explain your libel/defamation theory. Are you assuming Harsin has evidence that someone at Auburn made some statement of alleged fact related to the affair rumors?

Don’t be a dunce. His arms are chopped off when it comes to recruiting for 2023 and transfers for 2022. We only have 73 scholarship players and no one that’s any good is going to join after this fiasco.

Plus, suing "Auburn" for defamation surely presents a sovereign immunity problem right?

I did. I edited my post above. I am saying the opposite - Blueline is saying that. Police officers need to stop acting like attorneys. It’s a bad combination.
