that will perform at a high level and will be here for a good long time. I just feel Freeze is a good fit at Auburn and will do very well here.

I have a feeling there will be some turnover there after the season.

More than half y’all dipshits thought Harsin was the next Pat Dye.

I’ll decide in 4 years if Freeze is the man or not. All resources are available to be successful.

I’m not sold on Thornton 100% but Jeremy Garret was a finalist for DL coach of the year. Liberty led the nation with 109 TFL’s last season and ranked third in sacks with 41. I’m pretty sold on him.

I have already had this conversation more times than necessary at this point. Sure his guys did great. His guys were also awesome-already well coached and, extremely talented-relative to the teams they were mostly going against. They even had 2 former Auburn D linemen on that team that rarely played. And before we try to crown him some DL guru...he was only there like 14 months, and the year before then the Liberty DL actually had better stats than last year in several categories. So the previous year was even better...and this guy wasn't even around yet. So the achievement is probably more unclear than just the stats the SID writes.

See the headline.
LINK

Just checked again: 2021 Liberty defense:
Total defense: 11th
Scoring Defense 24th
Sacks: 28th
Yards given up Per Play: 7th
Team Tackle for Loss: 14th
Opponent Yards Per Rush: 17th
Rushing Defense: 45th
Team Pass Efficiency defense: 21st

2022 Liberty Defense
Total Defense: 35th
Scoring defense: 52nd
Rushing Defense: 59th
Sacks: 3rd
Team Tackle Loss: 1st
Team Passing Efficiency: 23rd
Yards Given Up Per play: 19th
Opponent yards per rush: 36th

So basically, Liberty Biberty got more sacks and TFL last year, however as evidenced by their wholesome and very well rounded great year the year before, those dudes very clearly already knew what they were doing before Garrett walked in. So if Garrett made for a nice continuation coach. then sure.

Gotta know how to recruit Oline too. And so far, he’s been getting his arse handed to him.

If Thornton isn’t back next year it will be because we Upgraded significantly at that position.

Surprisingly our linebacker guy (Aldridge) was the real stud DL coach for Freeze. He was a Broyles Award nominee as DL coach.

Pat Dye? No, never heard anyone make that comparison, ever. It didn’t affect my life one iota showing support to Harsin. He failed. I got it wrong. His success at Boise meant nothing as I was hoping it did. I wasn’t counting on him being so clueless over our recruiting. He clearly was way out of his league and didn’t have the chops for the SEC.

Freeze is nothing like Harsin, does it mean he’s a guaranteed success? Of course not. I can see a huge difference in Hughes work ethic and grind on the recruiting trail. I do like what I see and happy with what the staff is doing as a whole. Doesn’t mean they don’t have more to prove and accomplish. I’m sure we will need to upgrade at a coaching spot or two.

However, he gets it and knows what it takes to be successful in the SEC. Can he execute his plan to get there? I sure as hell hope so because I am not in the mood of having another firing and coaching search.

We will see you on the wagon in four years then. I may or may not call you a dipshit if you jump on earlier though.
