Truest post in years. You really think Freeze is a better Off coach than Gus?

The guy is a joke. You watch the game today?

Hugh is a joke!

Pete, I’m with you on the overall sentiment

But gus just went 4-8 at UCF, quit, and is joining a 2-win FSU team as a demotion of sorts

Just probably not the hill to die on right now

He won’t be head coach, he’ll have similar talent and he is a way better offensive coach than Hugh Freeze. Always has been.

This is an easy hill to take. I don’t know why so many can’t see Hugh is a shite offensive coach. Did you see that game plan today?

Man, those lateral screen passes had Bama all kinds of confused.

Should’ve fired Gus in 2017 after the LSU game.

I hope we don’t make the same mistake with Freeze as we did Gus with these phony OC’s pretending to head ball coaches.

2016 Clemson game. Rotating 5 players at Qb included a fricking FB whirly bird.

Thats after naming Sean White the starter, then rotating him and JJ over and over again each drive killing any type of rhythm. Not even a high school coach would have done the shite he did that game. He should have been fired on the spot

You aren't wrong about Hugh so far but did you see our offense in pretty much every road game against a decent team his last 5 years of Gus? Looked exactly like today.

Why would Gus take this? Is he getting hus buyout from UCF? He was owed 16 million if he got fired.

It’s weird. I could see it if he got fired. Chip Kelly did the same thing.

Because dealing with what head coaches have to deal with is miserable. He doesn't need the money, why wouldn't he do it?

He made $50MM+ at Auburn. It’s obvious he no longer has the fire to lead a program from the top position. He is smart and strait-laced to squander away his wealth. He will hang around for a few years and job hop a couple of times before hanging it up and ride off into the sunset with his generational riches.

I think where everyone is off is about money. That’s all anyone goes to. These folks that make it to the highest levels, sure the money is great, but they have huge egos and a need to win. I don’t think this is Gus just enjoying his money and hanging around as an OC. I think he thinks of this as a better path to get back to a higher level job.

Exactly. I dont think he is a guy to just quit and sit on a beach. He basically doesnt have any hobbies. He is going to coach. Somewhere. His ego wont let him quit.

This could be a good move for him. Get some pressure off his back. Who knows. He was about to be fired at UCF so Im not sure if he left on his own accord of if they told him to leave. Either way, IT will be interesting to see how he does with Norvel...

This team is woefully undertalented and it will take time to recruit actual football players

Gus had Dillon Gabriel and let him walk. It is comical how bad he is at evaluating QB talent.

What did you want him to do? Hold him hostage?

Recognize his talent. Recruit him. You know, things a 2MM per year job requires you to do.

The infamous CoxCat!

If he doesn't change his OL schemes to prepare his players for the NFL, he'll fail.

Norvell must be getting desperate.
