you're looking at a championship type team next year
It would take drastic improvement at QB, OL, and WR for this to even be close to true.
Bo hasn't show much growth (His QB rating actually fell this year)
OL doesn't have much talent
WR are likely losing our top 3 receivers
Outside of 2013 Gus has never had an improvement of more than 2 games. I'm not sure why you think this is the roster that will do it

I read on ESPN last week that the firing of Derek Mason signals the disparity of African American coaches in the NCAA. Well, after Sumlin got fired last night and Lovie Smith today, you can bet ESPN is going to be hella mad.
As an aside, the Illini took a chance on a failed SEC Big 6 HC before (Zook)...maybe its time to dip into that well again?

Good point.
. If not QB, we have an elite RB squad at least.

We definitely have an elite back with Tank and I think if we had an above average offensive line our other backs would look a little bit better. My point to Coarch was that if we were in the position to say “If we just get our defense fixed, we’ll be competing for the SEC title.” Instead, we live in a world where every offensive player will be no better when they graduate than when they arrived.

I think improvement on OL with coach Bicknell. Do we get top 3 I'm not sure. Same with DL with the work in the weight room for a few guys still not sure top 3.
WR is the only group I have no hope for.

Experience. Have to remember our OL has basically has been the 2nd string outside of Brahms since the Bama game.
Schwartz will be back. At this point I see no reason for Seth to go pro he might not even be drafted at this point. Deal, Frazier (needs weight room badly) and Pegues will make a good TE/HBack combo.
DL will improve under Garner. You got Hall and Wooden to be your primary Buck/DE and they young guys inside are and will continue to get better.
Granted growth has to be shown across the board but with experience from Bo and Zakoby I can see some legit leaders emerging.

RB - agree somewhat
QB - unless we develop an O-Line that can pass protect, and unless someone (Bo, Chad, Gus) breaks Bo’s bad habits as a QB, not a chance.
LB - depth was our issue this year and we all didn’t realize just how good Derrick Brown was. Lbs got swallowed up by opposing lines all year. Depends on how the Dline develops going forward
DL - just got whooped all year. Gonna need a big leap next year.
PK - fine I’ll give you that. I’d expect no less from FG Gus. Carlson will go 69-69 next year with a long of 69 and become the first kicker to win the heisman.

Of course for us and every team out there the injury bug has to go your way.
RB - We will have the top running back in the conference except maybe White at UGA
QB - Bo will work all year staying in the pocket and stepping up in the pocket. He will be better. Will he throw for 300 every game. I doubt it but I think he will be a lot better at converting 3rd downs.
OL - I can see them being the most improved of all groups.
WR - if Gus stays we need a new coach there plus it would be good for Kodi's growth as well
DL - Probably the second biggest jump in improvement expected in my opinion. Garner is and has always been the man.
LB - Is Wooten coming back? Steiner will have year under his belt in the middle. Owen and Zakoby can both move back to their natural positions.
CB - We are solid
S - scares me but we have some talent. Depends on what Sherwood and Monday do. Do they try the NFL? If they come back watchout.
This is my opinion I don't expect anyone or everyone to agree

I knew it was bogus when i saw the time the Board would meet.
No way our board would meet past their bedtime. :)

I expect Council to be at center. If we can find a LT that is "good" then the OL with movement from others can be very very. Jones LG, Council, Hamm RG, and let coffey, Zeier, Jackson, etc work it out on that side. The run game really picked up over the last half of the season.
Our WRs just can not get open, and some (I'm sure you know which) are lazy if they aren't the primary target. They have got to make huge improvements. And it's not the route tree, completely different route tree this year. They just can't get separation even against below average teams.

Don't worry everyone, the guy who claimed Bo Nix was an elite NFL talent earlier this season is here to tell you all about how every unit is going to massively improve next season.
The problem you seem to be forgetting is that we have a bad coach who can't develop talent. So expecting the QB, WR's, and OL to all "improve" is comical. There is absolutely no talent at DT on this roster, so expect the DL to get pushed around again next season.
Also, WAY more players will leave than you are expecting. So expect another season of "oh well we're breaking in a new unit".

I still stand by my prediction that Bo will be a first rounder. Regardless of who the coach is.
Next year if it's a normal season. I expect us to win a close one at Penn State. Will be crazy close. Win 1 of UGA and Bama. Struggle against someone we shouldn't and if we can find a way to win we are battling for 1st or 2nd in the West. If we don't win the west Gus is for sure gone then.
But this thread is about a change now. I think it could happen. I don't trust Greene to pull the trigger. He's all about the financial side. We are looking at $50 million in the hole for football. How much will we be in the hole with basketball?

Projected first round QBs this coming draft:
trevor Lawrence
Justin Fields
Zach Wilson
Trey Lance
Mac Jones
maybe Kyle Trask
Do you honestly think Bo is a guy who belongs in a group like that? Obviously Bo isn't gonna be in this class, but still, you think he will have a season good enough to be drafted at a similar spot as these guys?

This just isn’t the Auburn way. They didn’t hire a relatively inexperienced AD to control the football program. We know better by now
