It’s an apples to oranges comparison that simpletons make.

Ok man. We are just trying to find the best comp for Gus for the hell of it on a message board thread and that's the leader in the clubhouse so far. Got anything better?

My post was misleading... I think richt is a good comp for gus... the folks you wanna just look at straight wins and not look at the overall picture are the simpletons.

Gus is far closer to a richt than he is a shula.

OK, I'm starting to see things your way.

Here's the worst part:

Richt vs teams not named AU, 2009-2015: 58-27 (.682)
Gustav vs teams not named UGa, 2013-2019: 60-25 (.706)

Richt only appears to have had a significantly better record than Gustav because he routinely beat AU like a drum. Gustav's numbers actually look better than Richt's last 7 seasons when you take out his futility against the Dawgs.

Also, in Richt's last 7 years, his team finished with 10 or more wins. In three of those seasons (2 while Gus was our HC) AU provided that 10th win.

He just the second coming of Terry Bowden. Plays lights out with previous coaches recruits but can’t develop or pick his worth a crap.

I've never found anyone to compare Gus to. His crazy offensive-genius to no-offense arse is all original.

It's maddening. With the all the pieces and flavor left in his hubba bubba, he'll put up 600 yards and 50 points on solid defenses. And then...poof. The most ridiculously frustrating crap excuse for an offense will appear and first downs are as rare as reasonable buyout clauses on contracts.

At the end of the day, we can agree that GM is setting the football program back and allowing UAT, UGA, UF and perhaps UT to dominate the SEC. And let’s see how long it takes MSU to overtake AU. He needs to go before further damage is done. Some of us have been saying this for several yrs.
