I agree. Seems somewhat unprofessional for the Brown's organization to contact the media now and say that they want to interview CGM. They know that information will eventually get to him and it will be a distraction.

Mike Lombardi, the current Browns GM, was the Director of Player Personnel with the Browns back when Bill Belichik was the head coach and Nick Saban was the defensive coordinator for the Browns.

They are all close associates.

Do the math.

I don't buy it. Gus was a HS coach 8 years ago. He has been a college HC for two years. This does sound like something the Browns would do though.

You are all missing something. The owners, the Haslem family, are all from Knoxville. Butch Jones has already been contacted by them. He'll go way before Gus does!!

I've thought about this a bit more and I think the timing is wrong even if the browns are interested. Gus just got to AU as the hc. He likes us, we like him. He may have the best team in the country returning next year.

Multiple nfl jobs come open every year. The browns are very disfunctional. Gus has only been HC at a mjor total one year and Gus has shown he will wait for the right job if he wants to. We will see, but the timing doesn't seem right to me.

Wouldn't surprise me. Browns are running a clown show.

Gus has rebuffed multiple offers already this year and didn't even entertain them. That doesn't mean he won't leave but he's very happy at Auburn. Auburn's AD and staff helped Gus assemble his staff and Gus is very happy about that and has shown loyalty to that.

That's not to say one day in the future he won't go to the NFL but I don't see that happening this year.

Kinda my thoughts. Timing is not right at the moment in all likelihood.

I CAN see that happening, not Gus though. I believe he is smart enough to see that place is dreams go to die.
