for our sake, I hope it's the DBs... if I had to pick a position though, it's the Star -- Garrett and Therezie. Both guys will play when we're in dime. With Wazzou's short/intermediate passing game, there will plenty of opportunities for JG/RT to make plays in space. They'll also be used in blitz packages as well, I'd assume.
And to top it off, Garrett has probably been the most praised player on the defense... even going back to the spring.

Agree 100%. I also think if they try crossing routes over the middle, they're going to get leveled by the Stars and I'm envisioning a fumble-TD. Watch Holland get it and run it back lmao.

For all the students or people who use student tickets:
There is a rumor going around that they were going to start actually looking at IDs going into the game. If it was true, students wouldn't be able to sell their tickets or get tickets for their friends who aren't students.
AU Athletics just tweeted that the student ticket procedure hasn't changed but that doesn't really mean anything since its technically against the rules anyways.
This would suck if true.

Would be very dumb to enforce that.

RT @bkRansford: #Wazzu will be leaving on Thursday for #Auburn instead of Friday in order to help get used to the humidity.

Probably should have left in July

quote:Yeah they aren't going to enforce that. AU is intelligent enough to know the student section would be a lot less energetic and a lot more empty if they tried to enforce it. Sun Woo Tan and Ching Chang Wang's IDs being used by freshmen would quickly frick way too many students.

AU clearly has a flawed ticket system but trying to enforce it will get nothing but bad reviews like Alabama's system. I doubt anything changes.

Agreed. The system is definitely flawed from its original intention, however the flaw has made it probably the best system in the sec.

This is a pretty lengthy but solid breakdown on Washington State. I quoted the above summing up their 2012 defense. I think it's important that we use the passing game to help set up the run, especially early. IMO, Marshall can develop rhythm, and we can take advantage of their weak secondary.
Wazzou is decent against the run, and they'll gameplan to stop the run... especially the inside stuff to CAP and Mason.

After an early blitz (17 plays, 164 yards, three touchdowns), Washington State held Oregon to 305 yards in 61 plays (5.0 per play) over the game's final 45 minutes or so. Stanford gained just 256 yards (4.9 per play) against the Cougars, UCLA gained 334 (5.6), and Oregon State gained 370 (4.5). These are four pretty good offenses, all playing below their season averages against WSU. Plus, Washington gained only 269 yards (4.0) in the season finale.
But there just weren't enough tricks up Mike Breske's sleeve for the other games. Eastern Washington and UNLV averaged 5.6 yards per play, Colorado (!) averaged 6.6, and California (!) averaged 6.9.
Wazzu game-planned pretty well and played alright on standard downs (especially against the run), but in the end, breakdowns on passing downs were too much to overcome. This was a young, interesting defense that was probably too young to be too interesting. The leading defensive lineman and linebacker were freshmen, and a relatively experienced (comparatively speaking) secondary wasn't talented enough, particularly at cornerback.

Not true. I do know that they are (I mean at least were in the past) working on implementing an official type of electronic exchange for students. Essentially the goal being that we have an official market that can meet supply and demand.
I have read through the original report from a committee investigating student ticket procedures. The committee looked into getting paper tickets and that was a fairly popular idea. It isn't happening this year and is dumb as frick though
The real big wrench in any plan is block seating, greek life insists on it and there is a significant level of support from SGA (greek dominated) as well as administration (half of admins are former greeks).
Block seating though is a huge positive due to the number of people who would borderline get into fights over "reserving" seats and people not being able to sit together. Now tht there is organizational seating, anyone can sign up as a group.

Pretty sure you can electronically transfer this year. I don't like the paper ticket/ assigned seats in the student section. I like it how it is now.

You will not be checked on ignited cards at the gate. I was told this in the past 5 minutes by someone who actually deals with it.
You will be able to transfer tickets electronically to other people through tigeri though which is the online marketplace for students to exchange tickets

Also fun fact, ignited points for block seating are no longer related to social media posting, just attendance to sporting events
I liked racking up points doing nothing

I remember my friends going to softball games and other random shite to rack up points. Sucks. I was lucky being NROTC, I did the state flags intro stuff on the field in my white uniform then changed outta that shite and had great seats.

FWIW, the O/U is 59. With maybe one exception, everyone in this thread's total has been over 60 points.
Pretty crazy considering Mike Leach is their coach, but statistically Wazzou's defense (76th) ranked higher nationally than their offense (109th) last season.

Forgive my ignorance, but how is this working now? As best as I can recall, we did have to show ids, and there was just a large student area. Although we had row/seat numbers, no one sat in their actual seats, it was General Admission. Frats would send the pledges to reserve the seats.
There was always an issue b/c recent alumni wanted to sit in the student section and it wasn't allowed. (This was '87-'91, so someone can correct me if my memory is off).

2010 grad, I still want to sit in the student section as long as all the current students have seats and the concessions are improved as they are saying.
Read the statistics about WSU defensive performance last year but I'm going to go out on a posibarner limb and say this isn't going to be a shootout and we're going to be up by 17 points or so going into halftime.
