Somewhat a boring weekend. I took off on Friday and basically stayed home for 3 days. My wife is working nights this week so she was asleep all day so just me hanging out at the house relaxing. Not really my thing for 3 days. Should have taken the boat out yesterday or Saturday

Back to work today. I have been trying to get someone to come in a build a custom bar area in our great room. A couple cabinets on the wall, two cabinets on the floor with a 24" wine chiller between them. Maybe a butchers block countertop. Cant get anyone to come. Hell, we have cash in hand. So, I may take on that project this summer myself. That should be fun

Hope you all had a great weekend and fathers day

sang a lovely a cappella anthem with the church choir, got taken to brunch by my youngest, played a 4-hour gig at an Irish pub, then relaxed on the beach by the pier until sunset

one of my better Fathers Days

Lanier,

Can you do a compact buzzbait like you do on the spinnerbait? I need some more compact spinnerbaits and thought I’d ask.

Nope. Unfortunately not. I’m not really sure how that would work anyway. The heavier body without the larger blade would be tough to keep on top.

I don’t have a mold that would allow me to test that. I’d have to hand make a prototype.

Just send me a email or call and I’ll get you taken care of.

The 1/8 and downsized 1/4 are the best spinnerbaits I’ve ever thrown. Need another couple hundred dollars worth for sure.

The 1/8 buzzbait does great on the spinning rod, but is a challenge on the baitcaster. The typical 1/4 buzzbait is too much for where we are. Need something in between. I found some 3/16 buzzbaits that I liked.

Yea, the small buzzbait is not great on a casting rod. Hard to thrown that thing. The 1/8 ounce is just a different animal. I wish I had interest in a smaller one, I would spend the time and money to design and make them. Just not a lot of interest.

Back in the shop today. Took a pretty good fall at the boat ramp Saturday putting my boat on the trailer. Ive probably trailered a boat 5000 times in my life and never fell. Till Saturday.

Low tide and a very slippery ramp. I was cranking the boat up on the trailer and my feet just took off. Fell sideways and landed on my ribs on the trailer tongue. Then flipped over like a cartwheel and face-planted on the ramp in about a foot of water. Im sure that was very entertaining but not so much for me. Cracked my ribs on my right side. They are very sore and a pretty color of yellow and orange this morning. I am moving slowly and cautiously.

Maybe a little bruised ego but I have injured myself plenty of times.

Side hurts way more today than my ego.,,,, Was a crazy fall and Im not sure even a 25 year old Lanier could have recovered once the feet went. Must less a 58 year old Lanier

I have to take a few mins of your day to brag a little. I got my second grandchild on Monday night. My son and daughter in law brought this little guy into the world about 9pm and he is doing fine. My granddaughter seems to be fine with having a little brother, for now. So happy for my son who took to being a father better than I ever could have imagined. So proud of him.

So thats two and will probably be it for us. I dont think they are going to have any more, my youngest son (24) is Autistic and wont be having any and with the passing of my daughter 5 years ago, eliminates any other chances. One girl (2.5) and the new grandson...

Damnit lol. Which ramp did you fall at? I've busted my arse more than once at the Coquina ramp on south end of Anna Maria.

Centennial Park in Sarasota. Low tide and the ramp was covered in algae. I was just standing there cranking the boat up to the roller and both feet took off.

Ribs landed on the brake cylinder area on the tongue of my trailer.
