I would swing for Dilly then hire CK as a backup.

Charles Kelly may just work out, who the heck knows, but for whatever reason literally every other candidate I've seen mentioned excites me on some level except for that one.

If he didnt look like a slob, he would be a hotter candidate nationally. He's a recruiting machine and understands what is needed to win. He has JSU playing for a title. He is not my number 1, but we could do worse.

He has worked for the best coach to ever do it and won a title there as co-DC. Also won a title as a position coach with Jimbo. He has years of experience as a coordinator. He has worked all over the south as a college coach. Went and saw the circus and learned the NIL ropes with Coach Prime. He has been at Auburn, so he understands the people and the place. He was a GA on the undefeated '93 team.

There are other better coaches out there, but his resumè and fit at Auburn is as good as anyone else's. He is just missing more experience as a HC. But he is doing a damn nice job in his first stop as HC.

Im with you as he isnt, and shouldn't be the first choice. But we could do a hell of a lot worse.

And don’t forget the most important fact - he played for Pat Dye. :eyeroll:

C’mon man, give me a break. If he’s such a great HC why is he just now getting his first gig at 58 years old? Why aren’t other teams beating down his door to hire him as their HC?

We can do so much better than hiring a first time head coach away from Jax State.

wtf

seems bogus. Fleck trying to get a raise maybe?

he has been okay there, not bad, but doesn’t seem like an exciting hire. No SEC experience whatsoever and kind of an 8-9 win ceiling it seems. I would much prefer the other names we’ve seen floated.

I’m hearing some things, but due to my sources being in the know, I’m going to have to hold back until this is over.

It’s basically a done deal.

Hang on, help is on the way!

Just musing- because I have no clue. I am just thinking who would be a $10M man? Would that be Drink from MO? I assume Kiffin would cost more. Surely we wouldn’t pay Dillingham, Sumerall, Clarke that salary would we?
