Auburn’s schedule cannot get any harder (compared to the rest of the SEC).

Moving us to the East or placing us in position to start playing UT more (and bammer playing UGA more) will help Auburn.

I dont personally think it will help Auburn. Yes the revenue will go up but so will all the other SEC teams at the same rate who happened to be our biggest rivals. I dont think Auburns issues right now are money. Yea our grounds need some work but its not going to fix what issues we have.

Anything that helps us will also help everyone else. Competition will be tougher now and even if we switch the conferences around, I dont see how it could help us and not help everyone else we face at the same rate

Changing the conferences around could help us some with out difficult schedule but to reach our goal of winning championships, it will probably make it harder

I am a fan of them coming because I like change and I think it will be fun having them in but I dont see it directly helping Auburn over any one else than matters

OU I can see.

However Texas has never tried to fit in anywhere and always labeled as 'not does play well with others'.

Therefore who do you think it benefits any one team more than the others? Or just an overall bump to the SEC?

I dont know if it actually benefits anyone more than anyone else. Each school equally. More competition for everyone. It could help us in the regular season with our schedule but in the end, winning the SEC is now harder. So thats a wash

I dont really know how it will go. I just cant see it helping or hurting Auburn specifically more than anyone else. When A&M came in, it didnt help us. Just gave us one more hard team on the schedule.

We will see. Should be fun either way

I dont like that Oklahoma and Texas will now have inroads to recruiting in the South and all the cash in the world to buy players legally

first year after Auburn and Alabama move to the east, I am sure our cross division opponents will be OK, and whoever is better at the time of LSU, UT, TA&M

There are enough quality players in Texas and Okl. for every SEC team to get their fair share. They have been going to the Okl. St.'s, TCU, Tex. Tech's and Baylor's of the world. Now the Big 12 eyes will be on the SEC.

My thoughts exactly.

And Bama's cross division rival being Oklahoma would be nice.

It will help our recruiting significantly.

Auburn always recruits Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida and we need to be playing games against those teams every year.

Playing Arkansas, Miss State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and LSU does nothing for our recruiting.

Except for Jason Campbell who was from Mississippi.

This is just the continued push of college football moving form being a regional sport to a national sport. Prior to the BCS, it was all about winning your conference and being rewarded with a trip to play another team from another conference. It has slowly moved to more and more about playing the best teams in the country and ultimately the only thing that will matter will be making the playoffs and winning a championship.

The SEC will get 4-6 teams in the new playoff format given how strong the conference will be now and Auburn will still be well positioned to compete for one of those spots most years imo. Plus more entertaining games every year, plus more games against traditional SEC opponents will be better. There are a lot of kids from Texas that currently go to TCU, Baylor, etc. right now. More eyes on the SEC should help recruiting from there.

One thing I love about the move, we have always been squeezed by UGA/UA and LSU. It is fun watching LSU/UA/TAMU and their insecurities. Even UGA is getting shade by their free pass of living in the east.
