Would be nice to see what hecan do with a fully healthy season. He had an ankle injury a good bit of last season.

Per Caldwell

Auburn basketball offered GaQuincy McKinstry. He also got to talk to Pearl today. Auburn is going to allow him to do both sports.

Scholarship would counts for football I believe. If so, why would Pearl say no?

He’s probably borderline worthy of a basketball scholarship in the SEC by itself, but I believe Bruce wouldn’t say no even if for no other reason than to help a coaching friend out imo. Getting recruited by Pearl to play basketball can shift the recruiting balances.

I don’t know how well McKinstry plays basketball though. Anybody know? I know other teams have offered which makes Bruce’s credible.

From what I read, his best offer prior to ours was from Jacksonville State.

Well then. It’s plausible he’s just helping his coaching friend out.

This guy is a definite walk on option, and if football is covering the scholarship I don't see why we wouldn't.

So it doesnt count against both teams scholarships? Or was he just offered a BBall walk-on spot? Seems like you could bury some scholarships in other sports - for example why not put Schwartz on track scholarship and make him a football walk-on? I'm sure there are rules I just don't know the,

No. Any dual sport athlete on scholly playing football counts to the football limit only. Given all the stuff with Title IV it would be bull crap if it did to both sports because that would be taking away from a men's scholly overall.

He was offered a basketball scholly by AU. If he comes to AU playing football he will be counted as a football scholly & then can be looked at as a basketball walk on.

Can't. NCAA rule is any schollied dual sport athlete playing football has to count against football's limit. Teams used to do a long time ago what you are thinking to pile up talent & that's why the NCAA did away with it.

What do his friends and coaches call him? His first name is three syllables long and that gets old right.
