I'll have mixed feelings is JJ starts over Marshall. On one hand, JJ seems like a badass. On the other, Marshall seems like a failure.

I could live with JJ starting all year. The dude is a beast and has more upside than any QB on our roster.

I'm trying to think of some guys that started at some point in their TF years and went on to have decent careers. So far I have both Mannings, D Greene, M Stafford, RG3 and the Holloway guy from OU that won an NC his freshman year back in the 90's.

If he's obviously outplaying Frazier and Wallace, I wouldn't call him a failure. He'd just be getting outplayed by JJ. All this said, I still expect Marshall to start, so all of this may not matter

It basically sounds like it is a 3 way battle between Johnson, Frazier, and Marshall. And from all the different reports and sources it seems it breaks down this way

Frazier - Knows the playbook the best and is solid in practice but when things went live he struggled. Coaches still think they can repair his confidence

Marshall - Best athlete at the position. Makes plays but is behind on the playbook.

Johnson - Great upside and is picking up the playbook fast but he is still a freshman and is making freshman mistakes. Seems to be getting more comfortable and is trending up

Does that bout sum up the general news on these guys?

I heard Tony Stevens has been showing out in practice and talking a lot of trash to the D.

I like him already

Sounds about right. Could have just said we still don't have a QB ready to lead the team. :negabarner:

Rocky - Most complete of all QB's. Atleticism, accuracy, knowledge of the playbook, smarts. Is trending to be the starter and should lead AU to the SHIP by years end. 6'5" 233, rifle arm, 4.52 40.

Quote from a female NFL scout on Rocky:

It would be nice to have a season or two pass by where we did not have the QB discussion every year.

The good thing about JJ getting the job would be that he should keep in for a few years.

We really need a steady starter for a few years where our offense can get some rhythm..

We need more players like Tony Stephens. He was a fantastic get out of last years class.

Meh. I would've added "an arm like a damn rocket, a cock like a burmese python, and the mind of a fricking scientist."

JJ's highlights (which I hadn't seen) definitely ease my fears a little of him potentially starting.
